I really miss DT, Matt Smith just isn't the same! Did enjoy Single Father though, just a shame they cut the scene with his bum in it!
Shameless pic posting -
Says it all really! :rotfl::heart: Mummy to an amazing little girl0 -

The acting in Single Father was great, but the scriptwriting was dire dire dire. Had to watch it, though!
As for Dr Who...loved Christopher Eccleston, wish they would repeat his episodes, loved David Tennant, was very suspicious of Matt Smith, but think he's fab too.
And back to topic...so far I have spent max £8 on baby things, well, ok £9.22.Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Thanks Chakani and also Gizmodo for your replies.
To answer Chakanis questions, cost is very important its one of the main reasons for wanting to go cloth to try and get one cost at beginning with minimal costs until potty age.
I wouldnt mind inconvenience too much but obviously if it was too bad i would probably give up (trying honesty here lol)
I have a tumble dryer and also an indoor air dryer.
I asked "the nappy lady" for recommendations and she gave numerous options the main being terry nappies with the motherease wraps you mentioned. However in the next breath said terry nappys were not particularly good at night??. Also the Terrys option came out to about £200 which is the same as a birth to potty kit?
I spotted the Totsbots Bamboozle Stretchies and Close Parent Pop ins.
Woah lol i am totally confused about them lol
Ok, let's start with the basics - you need nappies, either all in ones (expensive, but as easy to use as disposables if baby is going to grandparents or nursery) or nappies and waterproof wraps, a nappy bucket and I'd recommend a net liner or two for the bucket, that you use like a bin bag. It means that when the bucket is full, you just pull the bag out and shove the whole lot in the machine in one go.
The cheapest way, but the hardest to get used to using are the flat terries with pins or nappy nippas. I've no idea how they came up with £200 for them - they cost £1-2 each, and how many you need depends on how often you plan to wash. I'd estimate around 15 if you're using them full time. If you find they are not absorbent enough at night, the old-fashioned way is two nappies, one on top of the other, or you can use a booster (literally a shaped pad of absorbent fabric). Or you could have a small number of more absorbent nappies just for night time use. Some people choose to use disposables at night.
Next cheapest are the prefolds, such as Bambino Mio, they are a compromise between flat terries and shaped nappies. They are supposed to be easier to fold than a terry. I found them ok with a tiny baby, but I've never tried them with a bigger one.
Then you have shaped nappies that you put on like a disposable, and use a waterproof wrap over. They are probably the most popular. They come in different fabrics - microfibre is the quickest drying, then cotton, then bamboo (but absorbency is in reverse order). They are generally good at preventing leaks, as there are two barriers against runny breastmilk poo before it gets out. You can get birth-potty or sized ones. I had a big baby, and found I got away with the bigger size from about 8 weeks, and he's still in them now, just about to start potty training, so you may or may not need all the sizes.
All in ones are basically a waterproof nappy that have absorbent inserts that either fit in a pocket or popper in. They are the prettiest and most expensive. I have some that I use for days out, because it's convenient, but I find them less leak-proof than my plain shaped nappies and wraps.
The cheapest thing to do is to buy them second hand (they often come up unused on Ebay or the nappy sites, when people have bought them and then changed their minds). You will also be able to sell them on when you are finished with them.0 -

That's fine by me, I have other uses for him :rotfl:Sam Worthington in Terminator Salvation
drooooool
YES YES YES to Sam Worthington, erm, who else:
Robbie Williams, Simon Cowell, Brad Pitt (in Fight Club only), as you can see I have a thing for cocky, arrogant men, hence why I've ended up with OH's who think nothing of ripping bathrooms out :rotfl:
sorry to hear about your pants day Fairyshazza, read my post from this morning, that should make you feel better. I'm glad you are getting the maxi cosi too, I may try and get the base cheapo off ebay then the car seat from Kiddicare - it's £135 on there, have you seen it cheaper anywhere?
right, time for me to go home, god knows what state my house is in, or even if I'm sleeping there tonight. Wish me luck - if I survive til the morning without committing murder I'll be back in the morning0 -
oh my god lol due in a week and not got a cot.
Braver woman than me lol
We have a crib - thankfully!! The cot is a long story - bought one online (Ebay - Argos Clearance) someone on here posted a link, it was lovely and only £50, had been £179 in the catalogue. They had lots for sale, and everything looked great! A month after paying for it, and receiving an email saying that it would be delivered soon, I received a letter saying that it wouldn't be available until the end on November - no problem I thought. A week later I had a phone call to say that they didn't have any of the cots and would refund me:eek: I was pee'd off to say the least, have complained to Ebay because they are actually in breech of Ebay policy. So now have to find another cot, it took me ages to decide on that one!0 -

Watch out for Kiddicare - I had ultra slow delivery from them, I had to do threatening emails and everything:rotfl:Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

Wow thank you for that. I had heard of those bambino mio things but never understood what they were lol.
I was really interested in the terrys until they offered the high price. May i ask if you know where to get them cheaper?.
Again thank you so much for clearing it all up for me.Baby Girl Born May 2011Baby Boy Born Nov 2012

Hi all,
It has been over a month since I last posted and thought it was finally time to log on and update!
My little girl was due on the 9th November but went into hospital to be induced on 27th October. Isobelle Grace was born 29th October by emergency c-section and weighed in at 5lb 11oz.
She is now just over a month and is weighing 6lb 8oz and is doing incredibly well. Sleeps most of the day including the night which is great!
I can definitely recommend Cambridge Addenbrookes/ Rosie Hospital as all the midwives were great as well as the care assistants.
Hope everyone is doing well.
