Every DFW has it hard and it isn't really fair to say someone doesn't have it as hard as others. IA has worked extremely hard to make sure her family become debt free and we really don't judge people on how hard they have it. I suggest you read the whole of this diary just to see what IA has acheived and how hard it has been for her. :)

    Well said Weller.

SEK, you say you are not trying to upset anyone, yet come out with some harsh comments.

IA does a fantastic job for one so young. Maybe you should read her diary again, I think you must have missed quite a bit

I have read the whole of IA's diary, and while i appreciate that IA does have it hard and has done an excellent job, alot of people have it alot harder than IA including myself. I am not juding anybody.
I follow IA's diary daily and in no way am i criticising her.

Myself and my Dh have 2 young children of our own and also have my dh teenager brother living with us after my mil died of cancer 4yrs ago. We have no other family to help us. It's just the 5 of us. My Dh works 70-80hrs pw and i work 25-30hrs pw just to provide a roof over or heads and food on the table. The debts are run up from when mil was ill paying for care, funeral and a whole load of financial mess she had left us with. We have no help with childcare so this means my dh gets 3-4hrs sleep a day which is making his health suffer and he's only 32. Life is very tough for us but we all get on with it. Some days when i read IA's diary i just wish that all i had to worry about was her problems and life would be so much better for us. I am also sure there are people out there with far worse problems than mine.

I'm sorry for your loss SEK, but if you have read the thread you will be well aware that IA lost her Mother relatively recently, and has had her own grief to contend with, as well as the day to day problems she faces.

She does this with great courage, compassion, and a wicked sense of humour, which is perhaps why we are a little over-protective of her.

IA, you're doing a fantastic job and I truly applaud your committment to becomming debt free, I mean you've paid off 7 debts worth £3499 since Oct 06. That really does speak for itself. You have £1500 to go, but I know (as does everyone else) that you'll do it. And we'll cheer you on every step of the way!!!

I understand as well that sometimes the relentlessness of paying debts (and foregoing personal treats) is demoralising; so we have to find a balance. My personal thing is baking and cross stitch. First one is cheap and benefits me and hubby (though not necessarily our waist-lines), but the second can be darned expensive and only benefits me.

    Keep up the good work.

I'm sorry to hear about your problems SEK.

Why not start a thread of your own, and see if we can help?

And Snaggles, I dont agree we are over protective - we just look after a very good friend.

Why is it such a harsh comment. It is a fact alot of people do have it far worse than IA does. Not once have i criticised IA for the hard work she does.

What does age have to do with it? I am 29 and have to manage my lot. No matter what age you are life can be hard and you either deal with it or dont.

i echo snaggles here, sorry about your loss sek and i am sure it is hard coping in your situation but as snaggles says for ia's age and for the experiances she has to face day by day is mind blowing. I am just over 6months younger than ia and to think of myself in her situation would not happen, i am in no way as strong/caring as ia... she ia an inspiration to all :D

IA is very well thought of SEK.

I'm not sure how you can say that compared to others, she's got it easier.
