Glad to see your post above, IA - you know, the pain will have been making thinking about the debt much worse. Have a good day.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Sounds like a good plan IA - once you start childminding and have some extra money coming in, you can always open an instant access savings account or something if you do want to start keeping debt savings separate again."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Just bear in mind that the additional income from child minding and Ste's new job might mean your tax credits could reduce.
I effectively worked for nothing in the latter half of last year, as I now owe them £3000 due to overpayment. Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches :think:Loves being a Wonderbra friend :kisses3:

Well last year gross he got 13.5k and his new annual salary is going to be 14k so it shouldn't make that much difference hopefully.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

OMG my dad has just turned up at the door. The last time I saw or spoke to him was nearly 2 yrs ago when I told him mum had died. I haven't WANTED to see or speak to him as he's an alcoholic and did nothing but make my mum and I's lives hell the whole time we lived with him. I'm in total shock and I hardly said anything when I opened the door as my brain couldn't take it in.. he had his 'gambian daughter' with him as well *loooooon story*.
He gave me a letter which was sent to him addressed to the executors of mum's estate about a policy she had which we didn't know about... not sure what it is but it asks for such and such documents to confirm the policyholder and to determine whether any benefits are payable?? Have emailed my brother who dealt with the will etc so will see what he says.... it's from a company called NPI? Haven't heard of them before though...
My 'dad' also gave me documents for an over 50's life cover plan that he's set up with me as the beneficiary which would apparently mean I get £2234 when he dies.......Odd seeing as I hate him and haven't spoken to him for nearly 2 yrs...
