Glad you had a good night out. I too need to do the same.
Hope there's not too much stuff going on there - so much has happened in the last year and the last few weeks that it can take a while to get grounded again.
Take care

P.s. Loved the shoes!0 -
I don't wear them at the ski slope.....or at the football.....;)
And thanks for just making me feel as though I am too old to be wearing nice shoes :rotfl:
Aww really sorry hun. didn't mean to make you feel bad:eek::rotfl:. No more a case of me settling for school mum look rather than being me. I have actually decided the following though.
I NEVER buy shoes for me EVER. I had one pair of trainers, one pair of doc martens, and one pair of sandals, and that was IT!
Then about 3 months ago I looked at my wardrobe and realised that I couldn't wear about 3/4's of it because I had NO shoes! What a waste of clothes.
Also I had just shelled out well over $450 for 3 pairs of sports shoes for the OH and 2 DS's. Well swimming is my thing, so I decided that I would spend the same on me for once. So now have a couple of pairs of nice flatty shoes, that I can shop in but that are also ok to wear with skirts.
So I am starting from a VERY low base in this regard.
I imagine Shoegal and macgirl might well faint!
chevI want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Ah, V....I never said they were "old" shoes I wore last night! They were still new shoes, but a lower heel (Thank goodness for Sale shopping!) - I picked them up for a silly price after Christmas in the Clarks Sale.....
Chev, I so know where you are coming from - it is only recently that I have started properly looking at what I am wearing and how it is finished off.....and as a result I have started to think very differently about what is on my feet.....(not always heels, of course!) and the difference in how it makes me feel if I finish off my outfit with the right style of shoes is amazing.
Urg - still things going on here, but settling down a bit and finding their natural levels I think (hope). The last three weeks have been so so strange with so much happening on so many levels - emotional, phyisical, mental etc that it has, indeed, been difficult to feel grounded and that has felt rather wierd, and has led to a bit of not sleeping etc,
BUT the difference is that I have recognised it this time, I have accepted the crap elements of it and worked with them, respected them if necessary, and put them into some sort of "life perspective" if that makes sense......which I think has helped me to retain some sort of grounding.
And I am still very positive about my future, and that of the children. I was chatting to a friend at the pub last night and, for different reasons, we agreed that 2011 was going to be the year that we "do" rather than just "think about".....and agreed that we have each made a satisfactory start in that quest.....
Long may it continue!

I like that 2011 is the year to do rather than to think about...sounds great that.
Am sure you'll settle with the changes soon.
Have a good day yourself x0 -
Hi all, been away with work yesterday but LOVING all the shoe chat. I ALWAYS wear heels, unless it's very hot and then I'll go into a sparkly flip flop type of affair. My feet are too narrow at the ankle to keep flatties on, and anyway I don't actually like the look of them! I love wedges for summer as they are comfy without being flat and it looks like there may be lots of them about this year, with the 70's look that's going to be going on.
Hypno, I am so impressed that you are getting yourself out there more, and treating yourself to shoes! It's very important to look after yourself and Chev I too am shocked at your shoe confessions. I'm another one who is always on tiptoes in the house, as my wee feet are not used to lying flat. Heels, along with make up and lovely clothes are out there for us to make us feel and look fabulous....I think it's about time we realised we owe it to ourselves to use them!!!! (here endeth the sermon but I honestly get so sick of hearing the whole 'No one's looking at me so i'll just shove a fleece on' chat. I'm with Joan collins on this one!!!!!!)'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
