welcome back from your holiday hypno, sounds like you had a fab time and are all set on the finances front. while the rest of us are struggling with the getting back to work blues, you are settling into a whole new life, how exciting! :j if rather exhausting at times!
i watched ski sunday too. I have no desire to ski (would be a liability!) but it is a cosy childhood memory for me of watching it with my dad and all screaming along to the theme tune and getting it very wrong and laughing lots
oh - and with you on the new recipe front, i am in a rut too! LOADS of books to look at and torn out magazine recipes so must make the effort!0 -
Sounds a pottery sort of day, then - nice
As for loft ladders, Hypno, thats one of the things that are next on my list - there's an advert locally to me that says ladder/hatch/hatch lining "from" £99 .... heaven knows how much they go *up* to, but its a nice idea.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
ah, but little_h, I still have to go through all that "back to work" stuff over the next few days!! With the move, and christmas etc, then the holiday, days in the office have been somewhat scarce!
ski Sunday today was close to where we were this week - had I realised the race was going to be on this weekend, I would have stayed on a bit there and gone to watch.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. yes, i did think you still had that to come but was figuring the joy of the new life and the new home (not to mention fab new shoes and boots!) would carry you right on through as if you were floating on a cloud....or something! :rotfl:
I think SS is from the Lauberhorn next week, I spent my honeymoon in Interlaken so we saw a bit of Wengen (plus ex hubs was a keen skier) - admittedly in the summer. I really enjoyed it. I love the mountains but due to a climbing accident I am not sure I would get my fat ankle in a ski boot without some serious discomfort. Not to worry as I have other adrenaline sports to enjoy instead0 -
Loft ladders are for wimps. What's wrong with one leg on a wobbly chair and one on a banister like the rest of us :rotfl:. Anyway, that's what you grew DS for isn't it? It's what I grew mine forA positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Sounds like you had a fabby holiday and those shoes were just meant to be..lol
Sounds like you've had a nice day pottering as well0 -
Hi Hypno,
It is actually quite hard to find a balance in your budget that allows for a few of those luxuries that you pared back when you had to. It's even harder when you have to get a new home 'broken in'.
Firewalker's suggestion is really useful. I've even able to put aside the pay rise achieved from my new role. I haven't really noticed it is I never got used to the money.
Have a good week all!
