Holiday sounds just what you needed before relaxing and discovering your new home and debt freedom.

I've promised a new or re-discovered recipe a week too - today was Moroccan lamb and cous-cous. It was delish - ds came over - we (3 of us) ate, he took a food box back with him and theres still a big bowl in the fridge. All from a half shoulder of lamb less than £4 - there were lots of other good ingredients in it too.

Enjoy figuring out your spending/saving regimes - must be sooo good knowing what you earn is YOURS - ok there's the mortgage - but that's just paying for the house that will become yours in time :)

Morning all.....today is the day I get back into the routine of going to work - apart from a couple of days between Christmas and New Year, which were very quiet as we ran on a skeleton staff, this will be my first time at work for about 3 weeks.....and so much has happened in that time, it feels really odd!!

A shepherds pie has, however, already been made ready to whack in the oven for dinner tonight - I can't remember the last time I made one, so although it is not a new recipe, it is ticking the "cook more" box.....plus it means I don't have to think of what to cook later in the afternoon when I am tired.

Have a good day everyone - take care outside....it looks icy again!

Hypno - well done on finding the shoes in the sale. Do we get a link this time? Hope returning to work isn't too much of a shock to the system.

On the recipes front - Ok, I still have a lot of cookbooks, but I can recommend the tried and trusted recipes folder. Basically it's just a folder full of A4 sleeves, photocopies of cookbook recipes that are tried and tested go in there, as do recipes downloaded from friends, websites, magazines, mse etc.. It does make it easy to just browse through for a good recipe, and the plastic sleeves keep them clean when cooking. Also you don't have the problem of finding a good new recipe, and then not being able to find it again!!! I've also got a folder of recipes waiting to be tried too, so it's not just about sticking to the old favorites.
  • I have about 5 of the above folders - bought them in Muji a few years ago, it works very well for me for all the above reasons.

except for the fact I don't cook many of them and have lots of new recipes to add to the folders. So a cull is required I think! Mmmm I can see meal planning for the year being done! :money:

I hope work today hasn't been manic or too much of a shock to the system. Does the tax deadline at the end of the month affect you at all?

Well done on finding the one pair of shoes left in the country, if not the world, that you wanted! And in clearance too.

I too have supper tonight sorted, a ham and mushroom quiche sits waiting in the fridge to be re-heated.

I am trying to visit the gym 3 times a week rather than 2 this year and to get back into walking home on Mondays. I walk there on Mons and both ways on Wednesdays already. Not up to running but I do walk a lot.

    And it is smelling delish!

Am very tired today.....the drive has caught up with me, along (I guess) with all the other emotions and practical stuff that has been going on in the last three weeks - It is quite hard to comprehend still the amount that has happened in such a short space of time!

So I have a cracking headache......and will be having dinner then doing very little, before getting an early night in.

I hope you have all had a good day x

Dinner was lovely, and I am very glad that I organised myself enought to make it in advance. Tomorrow night will be pork chops and pasta in a cream sauce, so very quick to prepare when I get home from work.

but for now - total collapsation......

oh, and for those who want shoe !!!!!!.....these are my beauties....there was an attempted delivery today, so I will have to go and get them from the depot sometime this week :D

And, yes, yes, yes, I know they are an extortionate price.....but remember, I did resist for months!!
