  • Well, I now have my elf - Patch, a list of mischievous things for him to get up to, another list of ideas for activities for him to leave for the children.............so really just lists lol!!! I am slowly crossing things of them though so thats good. Craft packs etc cheap in the sales.

yummy-mummy-amy could I ask you what you use your elf journal for please, do you use this to report back to santa? also do you do a christmas eve hamper for your children, what do you put in it? and stockings what do you put in yours? Thank you in advance for your help.
  • i thought it was only being released in USA, you have made me soooo happy!!!

just looking back at old posts.........did you get this game? It looks like fun something the kids would enjoy, was it any good?
  • hi,

sorry not been on here in while.
yummy-mummy-amy could I ask you what you use your elf journal for please, do you use this to report back to santa? also do you do a christmas eve hamper for your children, what do you put in it? and stockings what do you put in yours? Thank you in advance for your help.

elf journal - ours is a lined A4 hardback notebook, the elves write in it, "santa" has written in it (OH this time), the reindeer have written in it when they wanted to come and stay etc PLUS our children are allowed to write notes to the eleves etc. the elves write the date and either clues to where they are hiding, what they have done, if they have "left the house" (like whe they went camping!!!). everyone "magical" (santa, elves, reindeer etc can write in book without being here!!!)

i will try and scan (or photo) a page and add it on here for you.

xmas eve bag/hamper - yes we do 1 - its a final leaving gift from elves. there is usually new pjs for kids, and slippers or slipper socks. a dvd, bag of sweets or chocolates, popcorn or similar, santa's magic door key, reindeer food, some sort of xmas story (with kids names in - find story on net or make 1 up) for bedtime, bubble bath, bottle wine n chocs for me n OH. a note is written in elf book OR like last yr they knocked the front door.... (my bedroom is above front door - they flwe from my window and hit door!!!)

if this is refering to candyland game (which i think it is), then yes we did get it (off ebay), its very easy to play and my middle son (5) loves playing it, to the extent he asks most days. i get bored of it very quickly thouggh!!! (not designed for adults LOL!)

elf plans and such have taken bit of back seat as been trying to get as much organised (without paying for yet) for my 30th next jan!

  • thank you for your reply, I think the elf or elves leaving a hamper full of goodies would be a great distraction from the elves actually leaving, and like the idea of leaving something for the adults too!!
oooh yes please a scan of one of your pages would be great.
sorry i didnt quote properly in my previous post, i was refering to the merry christmas game for the wii, but i have seen on previous pages it isnt yet released here, hopefully will be in time for this year.
i have read up to page 18 today so got a few more to go.................will be back soon

i am too organising my 30th for july, you posted a reply to me a few days ago, you very kindly led me to vistaprint x
  • no the wii game didnt turn up, but it is due for uk release nov 11th this year (so play.com said in email). so hopefully can get it.

i think all ideas for mischief etc were copied to 1st page BUT there may be 1 or 2 that got missed. i did the same as you when i 1s did this i sat and read through all the posts about it and added things to my list as i went along.

(hope your 30th plans go ok, mines not til jan nex yr but plans are in place, things are pre-booked etc but i cant afford to pay for it all in 1 go. as i put on ur thread vistaprint do some good deals once you've used them a couple of times they do send regular emails with offers etc - which comes in handy for elf bits as well - mini stampers (use mine on passports), pens with elf names on, think i'm going to make a calendar of elf pics for the boys for next yr).

  • Hi amy thank you,

yes i thought that was the release date, i think it should be a good christmas game for all the family, I am also going to keep my eye out for the candyland game, my son should enjoy that one.

i have seen for past posts you were very busy with elf passports last year, i would be very grateful to take you up on your kind offer of making me one also if thats still ok? do i have to take a full pic of the elf or just head and shoulders i dont suppose it really matters. Still thinking of a last name for him, will have one in the next few days will ask other half for his input, bound to get something silly from him!!......choosing a name for patch has taken longer than choosing my kids names!!!

so my list of things to get have now increased after reading the previous pages.........i would like to have some visiting friends for Patch so will need to keep a look out for a snowman, ginger bread man, fairy, reindeer and maybe a snow dog or similar and a tent or bed or something similar oh and some transport for him........the list goes on, glad i have 10 months of planning and cost spreading!!!!
  • hi,

if you email me a pic of elf (head/shoulders or full - ur choice), name and surname (some ppl just put elf), DOB (some use kids and some make up - my 1st elf was borrn xmas day 1869!), and where you want elf from if NOT elf pole (a few i did were from norway etc). i will sort it out and email back to you.

buy a plastic crate with lid (not clear) to keep all elf bis in, then as you find craft bits etc during the year, or offers on vistaprint (mugs, t-shirts etc) chuck em all in and everything is together.
