Afternoon all, well what can I say apart from what a convincing bunch you are!!! :rotfl:

After reading through these posts I'm getting so excited and I want to put decs up. I've already started wrapping presents.

I'm currently sat here awaiting the arrival of my two elves one boy and one girl but I'm really struggling to name them. Did you use a name generator or think of them yourselves?

I've already been buying little bits for them (elves), and also thinking of a Christmas eve hamper.

I would really like to say thank you, you've all helped create a new family tradition in this house. Please can I join the Christmas card list, I will pm who I need to when I have names.
  • Hi Ollow

I used this website to name my elf http://www.jokesunlimited.com/christmas_elf_name.php

You just type your own name or your childrens name in and it generates a name for your elf. HTH

Thanks for that sianlouise, but unfortunatley I don't think the surname is Christmassy enough. Will have to get my thinking cap on, I don't want to steal anyone's names as I know a lot of thought has gone into them.
  • hi,

i have today made and sent a total of 6 passports to people. i know some are from the facebook group and i think some from here. if anyone else is wanting 1 please let me know.

I didn't use the generator for my elf names... I jotted down a load of christmassy words, went down the list to see which ones went together and came up with Crackerjingles and Bauble Sprout (yeah I know sprout isn't very christmassy but brussel sprouts have always been part of our christmas dinner!! :D)

    Hope this helps! x

    Hi all,

I've just come across this thread and have never heard of Christmas Elves before. But it is such a brilliant idea that the kids will love so i'm going to join in. Think my OH thinks im a bit mad but i'm so excited!

I've already ordered my elf, just need to think of a name now!!!

Just wondered when your elf arrives, do you put them in a box with letter, passport, advent calendars and then bring the craft stuff out each day or do you also put some bits in box?

Can't wait to go out shopping for stuff!

hello everyone i have come along to join in!! i have been reading through various threads for a while now but really want to join in on this one!!!

this year will be the first year doing the christmas elf thing, i have 3 children aged 7,5 and almost 2. i cannot wait to get started!!! my elf came today, i ordered him from ebay and he was not what i was expecting :( so i straight away ordered an elf on the shelf instead, he is so handsome and really looks the part. i cant wait for the fun to begin!!! i also ordered some lucky charms (cereal) because our elf will bring this with him, it is what the elves eat at the north pole (my kids have never had lucky charms or even seen them before) and is really yummy, the children are allowed to hvae some too and he will even leave some christmassy bowls out for them to eat it in!! the elf is also going to change over the toilet rolls in the house to christmas toilet rolls and he will tp the house in the normal toilet roll!! he will be very cheeky!!

oh also there will be a door above our picture rail so out of childrens reach, it will be an elf door that must go to the north pole, there will be a rope ladder hanging from it too :) how exciting!!
  • hi all,

sorry not been on its been mad here with 1 thing and another....

    anyway - me
    - i'm not too bad, the pain has gone (for now) BUT the docs have managed to get my scan for tomorrow, so lets hope they can find what is causing the pains!!!

passposrts - if you email me your elfs name, dob, male/female a photo and a return email address i will get it made, emailed back to you for printing. amylackey@freeola.net

facebook - i believe all requests for group have been accepted - if anyone has tried to add their elf to it instead of themselves they have been declined, their is another group (nothing to do with me) that most of the elves are in HOWEVER, a few of the human members on their are the children that the elves visit (they sent messages to my elvesasking to be friends) and i think this may ruin the supprise etc.

Just wondered when your elf arrives, do you put them in a box with letter, passport, advent calendars and then bring the craft stuff out each day or do you also put some bits in box?

my elves (3 main and 1 visiting) all have stocking/sleeping bags which are left under th tree and the elves get put here at bed time (kids)..... then during the night (or so kids think) they do things - hide in new places, make mischief start crafts etc. so for example the make stocking garlands kit i have they would get out on the table and make a start on it BUT obviously not finish it as "we woke up and disturbed them" if this makes sense OR they leave a note stating they started it but thought the boys may like to do it.....

I'm currently sat here awaiting the arrival of my two elves one boy and one girl but I'm really struggling to name them. Did you use a name generator or think of them yourselves?

me and hubby used the name generators (my maiden name, married name, my mums maiden name etc) but didnt use the names they came up with, we sat and wrote down christmas type words, combined with options from the name generators.

the elf is also going to change over the toilet rolls in the house to christmas toilet rolls and he will tp the house in the normal toilet roll!! he will be very cheeky!!

if your xmas loo roll is anything like the 1 i've got make sure you've got some "nice" stuff in bathroom cupboard etc as mine is really rough and feels like the sort i had at school - cheap n horrid!!!
due to spilling coffee :coffee: on my keyboard it works when it wants to :rotfl:
