Kicked out of Tesco for buying too much

  • Exactly Bertville, have a look at coke/pepsi can multipacks (or crisps/sweet etc) often cans from these have no bar code and say not for resale, some actually had (can't remember if they still do) a resale price printed on the can so that the shop keeper can't buy at 25p per can and re-sell at 35p a can (or whatever the normal price is).

I've often been to shops where they have been selling these items which as you say are marked as being from multi packs, especially crisps and fizzy drinks.

And a good policy to. I live where there is a minority group who had the whole family to buy three of everything, looks a bit odd when on the till next door to her mum was an eight year old buying £30 worth of special offer soap pwder etc.............. And a 10 year old a till further on doing exactly the same. Its not fair to the rest of the community imho:mad:

What relevance does this family being a minority group have? Are you trying to stereotype a minority group. Your response should have said "There is a whole family" who each buy three of everything.

you should only include salient facts in you responses

I've noticed in the past a local corner shop has been selling Philips low energy lightbulbs, that funnily enough were on special offer in our local Morrisons at the time.

Would it be relevant if they were disabled No
would it be releavant if they were all men No
would it be relevant if they were all 90 No

this website does have rules regarding offensive postings and if you take five minutes and look at examples of racist/stereotyping language and how culture can be used to reinforce messages you would understand why their race/disability or whatever is not relevant and just reinforces myths.

By the way I was not either rude or aggressive in my posting unlike yours to me.

Please be nice to all MoneySavers. There’s no such thing as a stupid question, and even if you disagree courtesy helps.

I think sometimes you get owners of small corner shops etc going in & buying as much as they can to resell. I have noticed that a lot of supermarket goods are cheaper than places like Makro which is where many "corner shop" owners buy from so they can make good profits from buying the Tesco offers.

I once saw a couple with 2 trolleys full of Cola on a special offer and I'm sure no one would buy that much in bulk for home use.

Was it in Asda in Wakefield? We bought two trolley loads of cans of diet coke recently when fridge packs were on 2 for £3. They were all for my consumption - I drink loads of it. Did do normal shopping too (about £100 quids worth) but only once coke was safely stowed in the people carrier from which back seats had been removed in preparation.

Seems to be one rule for one and one for another with you lot. People are calling her greedy because she wanted to BUY items on offer, yet I have personally seen some of you lot trying to bring down a flower business with my own eyes and laughing about it while you do.

Lesson for the day: Don't be greedy.

    ...and those supermarkets aren't gready??

Good luck to anyone that hits their pockets. Take what you can .These offers are usually only a way of enticing you in so you buy more stuff or they are getting rid of what they don't want, either way they are not putting on offers because they are nice and generous, they could even be doing it to hit local traders!
