Kicked out of Tesco for buying too much

Our store has the same policy, think Somerfield is the same IIRC with some offers, but as long as a person isn't greedy and buying a trolley full I doubt they would be bothered.
I have also seen the owners of local shops (corner style) buying goods on BOGOF or half price in supermarkets as they make more than they do when buying from the trade counter, can understand why they do it TBH.One day I might be more organised...........
GC: £200

One time I remember this guy brought all of our Coca Cola bottles...must have been well over a hundred of them. And I'm sure that he had a shop that he wanted to sell them in. But we never refused him.
no, sainsburys dont have a policy on, i remember various customers buying all the half price champagne, a load of beer, strongbow etc, i think they were happy for the sales reallyNo Links in Signature by site rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
if your local tesco has a bulk buying policy (mine can limit the amount to a case) then just go to customer services and place a bulk order which they are quite happy to do. had the same original problem when the great birdseye beef in gravy promotion was on ,my local store refused to let me buy more than 10 at a time.however i had a discussion with the manager and asked him what was to stop me buying 10 at a time repeatedly, and his reply was couldnt do anything about it but if i really wanted to buy a large amount then just place a bulk order instead.worked for me a treat.-....-.---.---. ..... .- -.-.

I think Lidl or is it Aldi (or both perhaps) that do something similar (I've seen the notices), obviously to stop shop or restuarant owners buying too much stuff.
The bulk buying also plays havoc with their purchasing systems so the shelves could end up empty.
You might be upset that they won't let you by 10 loads of something on special offer but from their point of view it's better having one annoyed customer who couldn't by 10 that another 9 who couldn't by the product in the first place."One thing that is different, and has changed here, is the self-absorption, not just greed. I think you should of bought 10 and your friend bought 10 ..and if that wasn't enough..
pack the car and go back in AGAIN!!
..so that makes 1 person buys 10..your friend buys 10..= 20 in total..sorted..:dance:smile everyday...cos its free

from the supermarket P.O.V..you buy more..they get more money!
does it matter who buys it..from 1 person or from many..they still get money..
unfair to other customers..well, the supermarket should stock even more!! (problem solved) :dance:smile everyday...cos its free

mazdamansport wrote:And a good policy to. I live where there is a minority group who had the whole family to buy three of everything, looks a bit odd when on the till next door to her mum was an eight year old buying £30 worth of special offer soap pwder etc.............. And a 10 year old a till further on doing exactly the same. Its not fair to the rest of the community imho:mad:
Can I ask why the fact it was a 'minority group' is of any relevance? And also could you clarify what you mean by a 'minority group' anyway?

I think sometimes you get owners of small corner shops etc going in & buying as much as they can to resell. I have noticed that a lot of supermarket goods are cheaper than places like Makro which is where many "corner shop" owners buy from so they can make good profits from buying the Tesco offers.
I once saw a couple with 2 trolleys full of Cola on a special offer and I'm sure no one would buy that much in bulk for home use.0 -
Exactly Bertville, have a look at coke/pepsi can multipacks (or crisps/sweet etc) often cans from these have no bar code and say not for resale, some actually had (can't remember if they still do) a resale price printed on the can so that the shop keeper can't buy at 25p per can and re-sell at 35p a can (or whatever the normal price is)."One thing that is different, and has changed here, is the self-absorption, not just greed.
