My Brother's birthday is on the 17th December so the rule was nothing Christmas related was allowed to be put up until he'd had his special day. Even though we've moved out now we all still keep to that tradition in our own houses! :)

The first weekend in December for us. Every year from their first christmas, i buy a new tree ornament for my three children, with their names and the year it was first put on. They are now 13, 10 and 8. Will need a bigger tree soon. :rotfl:
  • Can't stand having the tree up myself, but obviously the kids love it, (don't get me wrong I LOVE CHRISTMAS, just hate Christmas Trees:o ) so it goes up the afternoon they finish school for christmas!! which will be 20th december this year, it comes down 12th night, and by them I'm tearing to take it down. my mum puts hers up Christmas eve and comes down on boxing day  (occassionally she re puts it up, if she knows she's having visitors!!!) she has a plug in fibre optic one so its no hassel.

Usually goes up about the 20th Dec and comes down on 3rd Jan.

I don't like it up any earlier as it doesn't feel as special as just putting it up a few days before Christmas Day. I do stick the cards round the room as they arrive though.
Here I go again on my own....

My sister puts hers up way to early IMO, 13th of November last year, but has been earlier. Mines whenever I have time/energy, usually a week or so before. Youngest usually has his up in his room before then, he'd have them up all year round if I let him, Xmas/Lights mad, loves it, oldest however having Autism dislikes the change so we keep to simple tree maximum in living room and transform the youngests room into Santas Grotto.
One day I might be more organised...........
