Haha great thread. Save money by ignoring christmas until it's actually here!
I really really dislike the commercial exploitation of christmas, I think it spoils something that should be special.
Christmas starts anytime from the end of september to mid october these days so that shops can make as much as possible.
We'll be putting up our tree a week before and taking it down on the 12th night, that's a compromise that keeps our house happy and stops christmas from losing it's novelty by being around for 3 months.Be the change you want to see in the world.0 -
12 days before...................My birthday is at the end of November and I always check to see how many trees are in windows, usually a few, people seem to decorate earlier every year.Quid quid latine dictum sit, altum videtur0

We used to put it up (the tree..) on 13th Dec or the nearest weekend to that. But now we have mini children it goes up on Dec 1st or thereabouts. The astonished looks on their faces and the magic last that much longer and are far more real if you like!!!!3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!
