I am going to bath the bombs up in little cellophane bags and tie curled ribbon around them and add a little sticker I'll print off at work with a small pic of the person with a santa hat on and I'll write "Lavender for Relaxation" etc and "Happy Christmas from Vic" etc. Same with labelling the vodka. Yay!0 -
Sallys_Savings wrote:I just picked up 4 lovely wicker baskets from a car boot this morning all for under £1.50 each. :j
One is like a flower arranging one
the second has two flaps each side that close and is going to be for toiltries
and the third is a little wicker suitcase type which will be for chutneys/pickles/jams
they are going to look great as hampers.
So don't forget to take a look at car boots
Indeed, I'm a BIG fan of car boots and charity shops alike. Whilst charity shops can be on the pricey side(!), they can throw up little bargains every now and then. I've collected a few bits and pieces, including baskets and bowls from charity shops/car boots over the last few weeks, so it has really helped me in my production of hampers.
My best buy was last week when I bought a lovely glass swan ornament/bowl for £4 which I am going to fill with a hand knitted fluffy cream scarf, topped with some choccy truffles, for my surrogate Nan. I know she's going to love it; and it's practical to boot - the scarf can be worn when required, the bowl can be used for pot pourri, etc, and the choccies can be eaten - so none of it will go to waste!0 -

I have been looking at the woolworths website this morning and they have a lot of lined baskets and other suitable hamper containers quite cheap, even some faux suede (or leather) boxes at a good price. Not dirt cheap but if you are spending a bit more then very nice.
Search under storage, sorry I an no good with links!

Hi
I love this thread. :T I never even thought of doing a hamper before. It really inspired me and I have made my own. We're lucky in Gloucester as we have a 99p store, a £1 store AND a £2 store!!! I went mad this weekend and bought loads of things for my hampers.
The baskets were a bargain - i got them from the 99p store. I've made four hampers (each costing £4 each) and four coffee cups (less than £1 each)!!!
See my photos!
