Asda are doing taylors coffee at half price, £1.09. The Lazy sunday and Rich Italian are amazing, if you are doing coffe hampers I would remember to include brown sugar and maybe cream as coffee is not coffee without them.
Even if you are not doing hampers I HIGHLY recommend the lazy sunday0 -
Oh and morrisons were selling nostalgic mugs (cadburys and such, but not cadburys if you know what i mean) in sets of four for £2.99 or 2 sets for £5. They were really nice shaped, not like your basic greasy spoon mug.0

Just done hamper for Stepdad, mad about his car. So bought a black plastic bucket for 59p filled it with sponge, chamois leather, car wax, air freshner, bumper cleaner, wheel brush, deicer, WD40 (just because it was cheap), glass cleaner, plastic disposable gloves for when hes playing around with the engine. AA road atlas for £1.00 year 2007, fleece blanket washed bought from charity shop for 50p, ice scraper, windsceen cover, packet of werthers for glove compartment, demister pad.AND £20 GIFT CARD FOR TESCO SO HE CAN COME AND SEE US.
I know he will love this and I am so pleased that I have finally managed to get him something that he will really want.
Feel really inspired and am planning to do
a gardening themed one for mum using a plant pot,
football related one for 13 year old son.
athletics/running for 12 year old son.
Cookery based one for best friend using cheapy 99p baking tin as base for hamper.
Red one contining all food in red packets and of course red wine for other friends.
AS above in white for brother and sister in law.
Thanks to all on this site for great ideas. I am really going to enjoy my shopping this year.CUT OFF DATE FOR XMAS 2008 1st NOVPB £17.87, Ipoints 3907, QUIDCO £217.94,SHOP&SCAN 1950, LITESPEED 1265,PINECONE £8,BOOTS £18.62, IPSOS 1190, VALUED OPINIONS £19.25,MISC SURVEYS CLICK THROUGH ACCS ETC £23,0 -

Roz_V wrote:For anybody doing a chocolate-lovers basket, I found these in Co-Op today for £1.99! They come wrapped in cellophane but that didn't come out too well on the pic so I took it out of its packaging :rotfl:
Chocolate-cake shaped scented candles!! Smell really really gorgeous!! Good enough to eat!!! In fact, they smell so real if giving them as gifts make sure the recipient knows what they are or they may take a bite :rotfl:
I had a panic as I was holding them in my hadns for about five mins and I thought they were going to melt  :rotfl:
Found them!!!
Got 4 in the Works for 99p each.
Really chuffed with myself because I had only seen them in 'In Store' by my work for £1.99 each, and nearly bought one!

I was trying to think of ideas to do Christmas cheaply this year without looking like a cheapskate (have just bought my first house and I'm now broke!!).
You've inspired ne with your hamper ideas. It's not something I'd thought of doing before. So I've bought some wicker baskets off e-bay (just over £10 for 5 including delivery) and I'm quite handy in the kitchen so I' doing generic hampers with choc chip cookies, ginger biscuits, choc truffles, mint creams, lemon curd etc and I'm buying 2 huge bottles of bath oil (one feminine one masculine) to decant into some smaller bottles which I intend to buy from ebay also. Then I'm adding a small individual gift wrapped in christmas paper for each recipient.
So far I have a decorative glass perfume bottle and silk scarf for my mum, a silver bangle for my sister and a JD hipflask for her boyf, a zoetrope for my cousin and a boules set for my aunt and her husband. I'm going to wrap the whole lot in florists cellophane and then sit back and lap up the compliments - "I don't know how she does it, 2 little boys and a full time job, isn't she wonderful"
