Saw a great idea in a good food mag I read in the doctor's:
When shaping truffles, use a melon baller/melon scoop - they give a really nice round even shape (and I hate getting my hands dirty).:o0 -

Try Hawkins Bazaar - they had little bright orange rubbery goldfish last time I was in there. I think they're 25-35p each.0 -

Any chance of the Chilli truffle recipe?:D
Whoops, just realised that it was already there, silly me...0 -

Hi Tazzababe- you can use the end bits of soap and stuff. I have never done it myself but its called rebatching. Will have a look in my books but i think its just a case of grating the soap adding a bit of water and melting it down in a double boiler I think.0 -
Any other top tips on finding cellophane for sale. have checked ebay, and may try an alternative seller to compare with. Do Ikea etc not ever sell it now?Mortgage free 04/03/2025. Thanks to this site and lots of overpayments bit by bit.
Next stop: house repairs, holiday fund, replace our very old cars, more financial security/early retirement savings.🤞0 -
I've bought it in Hobbycraft in the past but I can't remember how much I paid. I've bought posting bags from Bag N Box Man before but he also sells cellophane wrap quite cheaply in large quantities. You can buy a roll 23m X 762mm for £7.94 inc P&P.:smileyhea0

A lot of people seem to be buying it from the florist - either per metre or a huge roll (you may have to ask them in advance for large quantities). I have not bought any myself, but this seems to be a popular place to buy it, so ask your local florist.
P.S. I have seen people quote anything from 20p-50p per metre when they have bought it from a florist - if that's useful?0 -
I was thinking of just going to my florist, but I wanted some decorated cellophane, mine says seasons greetings on it in black ink.
I think I recall someone saying they paid £2.50 for 5 meters.Work like you don't need money,Love like you've never been hurt,And dance like no one's watchingSave the cheerleader, save the world!0 -
