Good Afternoon
Apologies to everyone for not popping into your diaries last night but my laptop died again. That thing gets closer to being binned every day, if its not careful it shall be replaced with a nice shiny, slimline, lightweight variety with a beautiful fruit emblem.
DH has just texted me saying that he knows how to fix it, so its had a reprieval for now.
Well the year end meeting went very well so I can now relax a little and draw up the final version of accounts.
Its a very windy, showery day here today so the kids have both gone off to school in their winter coats. They are both having a friend round after school so that will keep the pair of them happy.
DH reckons its going to be warm again by the weekend but I'm not convinced, I was ready to put the winter duvet on last night but will hold off until after the weekend.
Its pay day today so I might manage to get round to reconciling the bank account and spreadsheet tomorrow night. I was going to do it last night but by the time I'd made pack ups, got school stuff out and had a bath (I was really cold last night) it was 9pm and I didn't really fancy starting on it.
I did a full inventory of both the freezers last night and we are doing ok for meat and frozen vegetables at the moment so won't need to buy much at the supermarket this week. I'm going to meal plan and write a shopping list for next week tonight after the kids have gone to bed.
I think that's about it from me, hope everyone has a lovely day xxx0 -
Good Morning
Another busy day is ahead of me in the office so better keep it short and sweet.
2 loads of washing are out on the line, hopefully the rain will hold off and there will be no need to use the TD.
The bathroom felt really cold this morning, but resisting the urge to turn the heating on. I am trying to abstain from using the heating until mid October, extra jumpers, socks, blankets etc can be used until then. We need to sort the woodshed out next weekend and move some wood around and then we can start to use the wood burning stove again on an evening to take the chill off the lounge. Once the kids are tucked up in bed there's no need to heat the rest of the house so hopefully we'll be able to get away with no heating for abit longer.
I did the meal plan for next week and are trying to use up all the salad things that are lurking at the bottom of the fridge and then its on to stodgy, warm food. Must make more use of my slow cooker now that the weathers getting colder and it would also free up time on an evening by not having to spend time in the kitchen.
I'll go shopping after work and then my days off on Thursday and Friday can be spent cleaning the house and catching up on a few jobs that have been neglected over the summer.
The kids enjoyed having their friends over last night, but I'd forgotten how much my DD starts to show off when she has friends round. Her table manners seem to go out of the window as well when she has friends round. I hope she doesn't behave like that at other peoples houses, but then some of her friends have appalling table manners when they come to our house as well so the parents probably wouldn't notice! I do need to get back into the habit of having their friends over now that all my exams are over and I've come out of the debt induced CBA approach to life.
I also resisted buying coffee on the way into the office, I walk right past 3 different coffee shops and the temptation was very strong this morning. However the last time I bought coffee I felt really ill afterwards so that's put me off until today.
Better go and earn some money xxx0 -
Good Morning
Just having a quick catch up, the entire house was cleaned yesterday, all the ironing was done last night so hopefully this weekend I can just have a quick swish and swipe and that will do.
Today is going to be spent cleaning DS bedroom and clearing out his wardrobe, I hate doing his bedroom.
Its been a spendy day already today, I've had to buy DD a new swimming costume and swim cap ready for her starting lessons at school next week, her old costume was getting abit tight. I have also bought myself a new dress for work from Mr A and a couple of casual tops as well. I need to have a good sort
out of my clothes and get rid of some.
My laptop looks as though it's well and truly bug@@red and I'm lost
without it so we're going to have a mega eBay session and see what we can raise to purchase a new one. We have a PC in the office upstairs but it's a pain having to go and switch it on and then sit up there on my own and surveys
don't seem to work on DH IPad, so I haven't done any this week. Plus the cat goes scatty when I'm typing on the IPad and thinks it's a good game to scratch my fingers.
Not mush else to report, I have one load of washing to do but the weathers overcast so I might just leave it xxx0 -
Good afternoon
DS bedroom and wardrobe has been blitzed and I've survived. His room needs organising better and abit of money spending on it to make it into a more grown up room. It's a project for over the winter, I can feel trips to Ikea are on the horizon.
Nearly school pick up time, I hope they don't start arguing the minute they see each other, otherwise I'll be tempted to leave them at the school gates until Monday.
Hope everyone has a good weekend xx0 -
My laptop is officially kna@@@@ed  . The lovely boy in the shop confirmed it can't be fixed without spending abit of money which wouldn't guarantee to fix the problem! So now I have to find the money to go and buy a new one. I've got a box of stuff upstairs for eBay so hopefully that might raise something towards one.
Will have a look on quidco to see if there are any deals to be had.
The list for today
Wash and iron school uniforms
Strip the beds and wash the bedding
Go and look at laptops
Cook a Sunday dinner
At least the suns out today and it's blowy so the washing should dry outside :T0 -
Oh no to the laptop being dead Choo... rip x
We have a PC upstairs too but its not the same sat in the study as being infront of the TV is it!!!
Hope you managed all your jobs today xxMummytogirls x0 -
Good Morning
Mummy - I didn't manage to get all my jobs done, the ironing didn't get done but that's a job for this evening. Sitting upstairs in the office on my own isn't a lot of fun especially when the log burning stove is on downstairs and its cold upstairs as the heating goes off at 6.30pm in the autumn/winter so a new laptop is a bit of a luxury but its also good for my wellbeing.
I had a quick look at laptops yesterday and quidco are offering cashback and discount if you buy one from PC World, so will do abit of research and then go and purchase one. Will use savings for now to purchase and then replenish the savings with ebay sales and surveys.
Work is manic busy at the moment so I hadn't better spend too long on here as the boss is also in today and he's in a good mood for a change so I don't want to upset him.
It was a manic rush round at home this morning, woke up late so ended up rushing round, luckily everything was ready to just pick up and go but poor DH was left tidying up after breakfast and unpacking the dishwasher as I ran out of time.
Taken some sausages out of the freezer for tonight so just need to decide what we're going to have.
Hope everyone has a lovely day xx0 -
Good Morning
Well it is a year since I had my full on lightbulb moment
All I can say is I'm glad its 14/9/11 and not 14/9/10. The despair, guilt and worry that I felt a year was immense and not somewhere that I ever want to revisit.
The memory of the awful night when I added up the total debt and realised that we had accumulated £13.5k of debt in a relatively short time span without alot to show for it will stay with me for the rest of my life.
I think it may also be time to start a new diary and focus on the future instead of looking back and having regrets.
Thank you to everyone who has read my daily ramblings and commented or even just lurked.
Good Luck everyone, and as Arnie says "I'll be back"
