Well I have just got home from Aldi, its not one of my usual shops but my goodness I can't believe how much cheaper it is. Its so much cheaper than Mr S and even Mr A.
I will be starting to do more shopping there, I bought 3 tins of peaches, icecream and brocoli and it cost me £2.98 I could have spent that alone in Mr S on icecream alone. I've just had a quick test of the ice cream and its gorgeous. I will be visiting again this week and try to do most of my shopping there with maybe just popping into Mr S for things that I couldn't get.
The debt busting should really be helped by not helping to boost Mr S profits!

    Good Evening
I have finally finished my ironing, I set the board up at 10am this morning and packed it away at 5pm! I have had to stop and start all day due to having to go to the shops, look after the kids and invalid, drop DS off at a party, lunch and finally which was the icing on the cake - a visit from MIL:eek: who came to "help" At least we all have ironed clothes again now it just all needs to be put away.

I am now going to sort out DDs trousers and have a finance evening, who knows I may even pluck up the courage to work out my DFD

Oh dear feel a bit guilty reading your post. Have hardly moved today other than making dinner and a pot of soup for lunches next week (see i can be organised:))

Well i have gone and joined the grocery challenge thread with 180.00 for January:eek: Havent a clue if this is possible or not as would be much less than we usually spend but then it wouldnt be a challenge if it ws easy would it?;)

It should certainly make me think twice before impulse buying anyhow!

Have a nice relaxing evening :A

I think you did quite alot yesterday by sorting out bedrooms, I need to do all ours but can't quite motivate myself.

Wow to joining another challenge I might take a look at that one as well. Although I'm getting worried now as to how I can keep track of them all. I have joined the virtual sealed pot challenge as it would be nice to have some money to treat ourselves with in the sales next year.

Hope you had a lovely evening and well done for making soup :A

    Thanks Mummy2girls

When I say help what I really mean is she turned up just as I was ironing the final few things and stood and watched me! Never mind the thought was there, she did entertain the kids and ran round after DH so that was helpful :A

Well I am now boggle eyed, Christmas spending was over budget by about £100 that includes food and presents so not too bad and definitely not as bad as last year.

Just annoyed because it means that I won't have as much next month to pay off my balances, its something that I really need to keep an eye on. I think that the budget may need tweaking again. The kids have got enough clothes to see them through the winter so no more expense there although I think DS may need new school shoes soon:mad:
I found £14 lurking in my handbag so I'm going to put this into a jar that I have hidden away.
Well I still haven't worked out my DFD - that can be a job for tomorrow evening.

Night all, my brain hurts as all I've done all night is look at my laptop and receipts.:T

I think you sound as if you are very organised - all that ironing, whoopee! :j
I found your diary by accident but it's really inspiring for me, as we too owe on the dear old credit cards and are trying to cut back. It's not very easy. DD has not yet realised value of money (we're working on that one but she finds the whole subject not nearly as interesting as shopping) and DS is at school with a bunch of rather rich kids who probably all got I-phones for Xmas.

I did a degree mostly at nights 4 years ago and know how distracting it is to be doing that sort of work. Good luck with your tax revision. (Wish the Government would do some, a bit more in our favour preferably!)

We haven't got an Aldi locally but I do love our Lidl. They sell the best satsumas ever, in a huge big box. and the shortbread is to die for....
Unfortunately our nearest place to pop into for food is M&S, so it can get a bit pricey at times. Although SOME things there are cheaper than Tescos.:p

    Hi Aloiseb

Ha ha don't believe it for one minute that I am that organised, it will all go pear shaped again next week when normal service resumes!

My 2 go to school with kids who seem to get given it all as well. My DS got a particular present for Christmas which cost us £20 but he was absolutely delighted with it, he went to show his friend who lives over the road and lo and behold the very next day this child showed up with exactly the same item. It happens all the time with the same child, he and his parents can't bear for anyone else to have anything that they don't have.

It is so hard clearing credit card balances especially when there is always something to pay for, DH announced the other day that he thinks he may need new brake discs:mad:

My kids are pretty good on the whole for not asking for things so I can't complain too much.

Well done on completing your degree, it is hard work but will hopefully be worthwhile when I qualify.

    Have you got a diary?

All the best for 2011 xx

    Morning!

DH is up and about and has got in the shower - thank god it smells rancid in the bedroom.

    Today I am going to

    1) Take down the decorations
    2) Give the lounge and dining room a good clean
    3) Find homes for presents that are still lurking
    4) Go through the freezer and cupboards and write down what we have
    5) Meal plan upto as long as possible
    6) Look for any money saving vouchers
    7) Look through some CVs that a client has sent through

That should keep me busy and out of mischief:D
