Hi Choogirl,
re starting with the kids lunches but it forgetting by end of week, it is so hard getting focused and doing it all the time, its exhausting some times!!!
I was just telling DH im so tired all the time but ive constantly got something running through my head.
If its not just looking after the kids then its working, studying, getting packed lunches ready or thinking right I need to get that washing in so it be on the radiators before we go to bed! Thats before you even start the debt busting. It took me a good few months to get right into it all, but im still exhausted with it all now .
I am trying to find some work with my bookkeeping on the side but tbh ive not given it the time it deserves really. This week I was planning on getting my linkedin profile sorted but by the time the kids are in bed im shattered!! Maybe il do it tonight :rotfl:

Hi Mummytogirls
I agree with you that by the time the kids are in bed you're too tired to do anything. My DH is really supportive and does alot to help such as cooking, ironing and running the kids around but unfortunately he doesn't seem to see what else needs doing such as putting a load of washing in, sorting out drying etc. He would do it if I asked him to but sometimes it would be nice if it could just be done.
I also have to sort the finances out as well and sometimes resent DH for just being able to sit and watch tv on an evening whilst I'm trying to sort everything out and study as well. That may be another New Years plan - to have defined task lists for both of us.:rotfl:
I sound a right moaning minnie, sorry:o0 -
I think Christmas has finally caught up with me I am exhausted.
Had a quick look at shiney new kitchens today, this is my incentive to becoming debt-free so I can have a nice new kitchen. It seems a long way off but I will get there x0 -
Ahhhhhh we all need a good moan every now and then, im at it all the time :rotfl:!!!
Ooohhh shiny new kitchen sounds good :T!!
Happy New Years Eve to you!!! xMummytogirls x0 -
Happy New Years Eve
No partying tonight, its a boxset of DVDs, champagne and takeaway indian for us, boy we sure know how to live but to be honest I don't see what all the fuss is about. I can't be bothered being pushed around in pubs and then waiting hours for a taxi, I'd sooner go out another night.
Had a quick look round the sales and bought a new dress, no not the one that I saw the other day that was still over £120 but a lovely almost identical one from Monsoon that was £38. I also bought some new boots to wear with my jeans which I have wanted for ages which weren't in the sale but still a bargain at £25. I have now spent my clothing allowance for a while now so thats it.
DH saw a winter coat that he liked but it was still expensive, even in the sale so he just walked away from it. Its made me think that maybe I will join one of the challenges maybe the sealed pot challenge just so that next year we can treat ourselves in the sales and not feel guilty for spending the money on ourselves and not debt busting x0 -
Happy New Year!
DH is in bed with flu, I wouldn't mind but I've just changed the bedding and now its going to need doing again in the next few days oh well. I need to make up the spare bed for myself tonight just so that I am not sleeping in the same germy air.
2011 is going to be a good debt busting year, no silly spending and trying to cut my grocery shopping each week even if its £5. I am also not having any alcohol now until the end of January. That should help the budget and I even have loads of booze left over from the festive season.
Have a great New Years Day0 -
Happy New Year Choogirl!!!
Oh no not a good start with DH being in bed with the flu, hope you guys dont catch it!
Well done on having the positive attitude towards the year, keep posting on here and you should keep focused x x xMummytogirls x0 -
Hi Choogirl
Happy New Year:beer:
Sorry I havent been on your thread for a while. I too have joined the 2011 challenge to pay off 8k in debts and save 2k. I think it is just about doable. Spent far too much in sales - got a Next VIP invite so sat and ordered over 200 quids worth:eek:. Not all clothes though - got lovely duvet sets and a rug for our bedroom when it has a spring makeover.
We just sat in last night too. The thing i dont like about NYE is you always think that you SHOULD be doing something special even though i much prefer sitting in with a bottle of vino and dvd. Have stuck my leftover wine (for all that it is) in the freezer to deter me from drinking any more:D Dont know about the whole month of January but will certainly be cutting down.
Heading to IKEA today but not for us DS1 shares a house with 2 other lads and they are moving house on 10th Jan so are looking for new bookcases/shelving.
When do you start back to work? We start back on Tuesday so hope to get organised before then re lunches. Have already set up meal plan until 15th January using freezer food and should only have to buy fresh milk/bread/fruit/potatoes. Bought a load of frozen veg to see us through as i dont get paid until 14th and DH end of the month:eek:Payment A Day £15 (started 17/5/14) :j0 -

Hi Mummytogirls
Happy New Year to you, hope its a good 2011 for you x
No its not a good start to the year, DD had flu two weeks ago and to be honest DH hasn't been right all Christmas so its finally materalised into something. Hopefully DS and myself won't get it especially as its back to school, work and studying next week.
These boards really do focus the mind and have made me realise that unfortunately there are alot of people worse off than us. However the positive to it is that hopefully everyone will start to sort their problems out and gets lots of support from the lovely people on these boards.0 -
Hi Choogirl
Happy New Year:beer:
Hi Boysma
Happy New Year to you x
Its good to hear from you I hope you have had a lovely Christmas. New bedding is lovely I was looking at white egyptian cotton bedding yesterday I fancy some for our bedroom and for the spare room which I'm going to change back to a bedroom. The kids have had it as a playroom for the past 4 years but they've turned it into a tip so I'm going to reclaim it and turn it back into a lovely peaceful spare room.
New Years Eve is just alot of hype, we could still hear people partying in a house behind us at 5am this morning, I wouldn't want to deal with that hangover!
I often freeze leftover wine and then just use it if I need some for a recipe.
I am back to work Thursday as the children have a teacher training day and then I have a study day on Wednesday. I'm going to list the food that we have in our freezers and cupboards and do a meal plan for as long as possible. I'll get paid next week and OH gets paid 25th January so we should be fine.
Good luck with the £8000, thats what I've put down to clear as well so it will be good to see how we both do. I really need to work out my DFD but I think I'm abit scared to do this.:)0
