Afternoon Choogirl, did the gremlins emerge or did you manage to keep them at bay? If you only used your voucher that would be ok...

Haha to the window comment :rotfl: same here its either the kids mucky finger marks or the flipping dogs nose marks !!!

Perhaps you could stick some lovely holiday pics to the fridge, that would be a constant reminder? It would be good for me also to stop me going in there picking at food if I wanted to be sunbathing in a bikini  haha!!!

Hope your ok today anyway. Im feeling miserable but I think its the weather backed up by the job situation!!

    Catch up soon x x

    Hi Mummytogirls

No the spending gremlins were firmly put back in their place. A top that I really liked a few months ago but was priced at £35 was reduced to £15 so I have bought that and I still have a £5 voucher left :T to spend another day when theres something else that catches my eye.
How times have changed, the old Choogirl wouldn't have blinked an eyelid at spending £35 on a top and just stuck it on the debt card, however the new, spendthrift Choogirl watches her pounds like an old miser nowadays :rotfl:

I really appreciate new things now as I know that I have to save the money up and not just buy things for the sake of it.

My windows have always got sticky kid fingerprints all over them, no matter how many times they get told not to touch the windows they still do.

I did go and get some holiday brochures and boy thats one dream trip thats going to cost megabucks, anyway the pictures are posted up on the fridge door and another small one is tucked away in my purse next to my debit card so I have to look at it everytime I get my card out! That should scare the spendy gremilns away!

The grey, miserable weather drags me down as well, I think I may suffer from a mild version of SAD.
Have you looked at the possibility of temping?

    Have a great night xxx

    Good Evening

Not much to report this evening, I've just realised that its now 6 months since I had my blinding lightbulb moment, I'm only just getting my vision back it was so intense :rotfl:and what a 6 months its been.

Had a good day today, busy at work and no boss in the office so it was a nice relaxed atmosphere. I listened to The Killers and Green Day in the car on the way to work and they certainly woke me up. I hope no-one saw me singing away to myself, its the only place I ever sing as I can't sing to save my life however in my sad, disillusioned world I sound fantastic.
I need to go shopping tomorrow as there are only crumbs left in the cupboard and the kids are starting to moan. I asked what they would like me to bake for them and they both said cornflake chocolate nests so that will be nice and easy and all I will have to buy is the chocolate :T

Right I think thats about it from me, a nice warm bath is on the cards later for me, DH is away until Friday so I can watch whatever I want on the tv but sadly theres no chocolate in the house :(
  • I love The Killers and Greenday, have a good day.

    Good Afternoon

I am officially a grumpy Mummy, thats right not a yummy Mummy but a grumpy Mummy :(

The kids are driving me insane, do they think that I like listening to them arguing about petty things such as whose turn it is to sit in the front seat? Arggghhhhhhhhhh!!!

Do I enjoy tidying up after them all the time ? No I bl**dy well don't!

I have so much on at the moment and DH is away, its alright for him he goes away and I'm left to sort out everything even though I'm working and studying.

Right confession time, I bought a dress in the sale today at Oasix :(
We have been invited to a couple of parties over the next few months so I will be wearing it alot, but I had no clothes budget left :o It was £30 , how weak am I? Its so easy to fall off the wagon, however it was £30 and not £300.

I will just have to rejig my own personal budget over the next month to pay for it. On a positive it should be a NSD tomorrow as I have a pile of studying to do.

I just can't wait for these exams to be over I will be able to focus on other things such as getting my home sorted out.

Well its a lovely day here, 2 loads of washing are out on the line, downstairs has been tidied to a reasonable standard and its time to hit the books.

My NSD hasn't gone according to plan, I've bought some tights to go with my dress, nothing extraordinary about that but they're toeless tights so you can wear them with toeless shoes. How bizarre!

I also had to buy some cat nibbly biscuits as he's almost eating his last box and he likes them as a little inbetween snack and I forgot to buy them yesterday.

I woke up this morning thinking it was pay day, only to realise that we have another week to go :(

I've been thinking again, I seem to do too much of that nowadays. Keeping the house to a Monica standard is going to have to wait until after my exams are over. The exams need to take priority as I would be gutted if I failed now and had to do re-sits. I've been fortunate not to have to re-sit any so far but theres always a first time so I need to focus on them big time.

If anyone doesn't like the state of the house its tough!!! They know what they can do.

My Mum rang me last night and even though I explained how everything was getting me down (although she doesn't know about our debt as she has never owned a credit card in her life or owed anyone anything so I would get a lecture on living beyond our means) she never offers to come and help in any way.

An offer of ironing to be done or pick the kids up occasionally would be much appreciated but no offers are ever made.
My Mum is abit of a martyr really and would sooner stay up to the early hours doing what she has to do rather than admit she needs help and I think she thinks that I should just get on with it.

Yes they're my kids, I'm working, DH works away alot, I'm studying and running a house but maybe just maybe abit of help would be nice sometimes.

Maybe sometimes I'd just like to go and have a nice day out with her just the 2 of us but that never happens either, she won't leave my Dad on his own. He's perfectly fit and healthy and even capable of making himself a sandwich but she won't go out and leave him.

I never want to have that scenario with my 2 kids, I will want to help them out if they need help and spend days with them. I feel so envious of people who have parents that help them out.

Sorry thats a right moan and I do love my parents and appreciate them but maybe sometimes I would like abit more support from them.

    Hi Mummytogirls and Abba

Thanks for popping by, parents eh they are a law unto themselves. I spoke to my Mum yesterday about how I would maybe appreciate abit more help and she said DH had to help me more, thanks Mum! We've had abit of a falling out over it, I told DH and he said he could see it brewing for months and I think he mentally thanked my Mum for dropping him in it.
The thing with my Mum is she has a canny knack of making me feel guilty for speaking my mind, she has a very good way of twisting the arguments round to make me feel sorry for her! Must take notes from her!

Oh Abba that must have been tough, thinking your Mum would be near by and then upping sticks and moving to Liverpool. Do you ever go and visit?

Mummytogirls - my Mum was exactly the same when DH had flu over the New Year, not one offer of help either. Well at least we both know where we stand I suppose.

I tried the toeless tights last night when I went out with my friends - they worked I just daren't take my shoes off when they started to hurt as the tights looked so strange, but at least they did the job. I would definitely buy them again.

Today is a finances day, ironing and its shepherds pie for tea tonight so I will make 2 and put 1 in the freezer for another week when the grocery budget is struggling due to the 5 week month. I have also bought a large swede so I will make mashed swede and carrot for tea, make double and freeze the other half for another day.

Right its time to look at the bank balance and make a transfer to my sealed pot.
Will catch up with diaries later on tonight.

Have a good day all xxx
