Ok, I have just opened a photobucket account. Have chosen just one photo now and this is it.
    IMG_0064.jpg

I chose this one because it is a tree which I particularly love. I have several photos of this throughout the year.

i think we've all done really well on this challenge, we've some beautiful places that we're able to visit. If nothing else this challenge will help up appreciate where we live and how the place that others live differs so widely from our own.
  • Louise bt I love the colours in your photos- you can really feel the wind blowing!

EH your photo is class... So simple, but really portraying the feel of winter with the sun low in the sky casting the long dark shadows.

Pippilongstocking, the composition of your landscape shot is brilliant, with the swans in the foreground giving the photo real interest! I always think of swans at Xmas too!

  • Ha! Trust me to pick the wrong one then! :D I love the idea of having a tree or a view that you can photograph through the year to document the changing seasons. A lady who's blog I read regularly has just completed a project where she has taken a picture each month from the same spot - the difference in daylight and the overall aspect of the view is amazing! What beautiful pictures from everybody. I think I need to really learn how to use this camera and try to think more creatively if I am to keep up with all of you!

I dunno - turkey is good enough for the rest of us! :rotfl:

Thanks for your comment by the way, I was slightly worried that the shot missed the idea of it somehow - people have such different ways of thinking about tbhings that you never quite know if you're "out on a limb" on your own! :)

And that, in itself, is the idea of the thread! Already it's inspired me to grab my camera for a shot I wouldn't have otherwise bothered about, Pippi's stretched herself out of her comfort zone and proved that she should do it more often, LT's proved that she has an eye for the unusual and I can see that Louise & Contemplates are both just going to be itching to get to the Arty/Macro-type challenges!

  • Wow - all I can say is wow - aren't you lot a clever bunch :)

LT - well done on making it resized! I do like the coloured leaves with the clematis - what a sausage of a flower! And you're right - we've all had a bit of an explore haven't we?
Contemplates - thank you I so want to be near your fire! - the swans were about 1m from me and the younger ones seemed to want to come and see me - not great - loch side - stupid shoes on with swans trying to eat your toes!
Cheri - well done on the photobucket account - and that tree is truely lovely!!!!
Lou - I know what EH meant about walking down the path...................scuffing up the leaves!!!!!

EH - long shadows - very winterfeeling - the light is different at this time of year isn't it? We'll soon be on only 6 hr days - or less if its dull. Itscertainly a challenge at either end of the year with the light - the summer with almost no nightime is also a bit wierd!

I did take one of my winter hat being aired by the loch - but it just didn't work, I'll keep my sillyness for elsewhere :)!

Bravo chaps and well done EH for organising everything!

  • Don't worry Cheri.... It is all about trial and error, and I have learnt so much from this weeks project alone!

I'll second that Pippi... Thanks EH for getting us thinking!

Already can't wait for the next project!!

I think you did brilliantly - I had all my winter hats (well a selection of them) out hanging them on fenceposts - thankfully as a photo it didn't work - the loch was the second choice!!!

Hmm, you need to be nicer to yourself - take your camera with you to the outlaws - you'll have a good excuse to get out - :)
