Ive got some gaffa tape and stakes for the first time, never had them before so im looking forward to setting everything out!
Have you set dynamine off before? If so do you know what its like?
Also Si7, nope no videos or in fact any info on them at all sorry.
I haven't set off dynamite but the stakes and gaffatape is a good idea to stop mines tipping over when they eject their payload and detonate their effects(and it also saves you having to bury them two thirds deep and having to firm up with earth/sand once they are buried;which takes quite a bit of work). Stakes and gaffatape are also useful for very tall roman candle barrages like Standard's Skyline Spectacular and other similar tall barrages like 56 shotters so they don't fall over while firing. In fact stakes and gaffatape are a good idea for any tall unstable firework;and here is a safety tip(fasten the firework to the back of the stake so that if the firework does happen to work loose while blasting, it'll fall safely away from where people are watching and not shower them with hot effects/burning stars and fallout).0 -
Please can you firework guru's help me out?
We're looking to have some fireworks for a little family party on halloween as it's our 5 year wedding anniversary.
I live in Shropshire but am willing to travel, we travel around the West Midlands quite often to Birmingham/Dudley etc.
Our local warehouse Hooty's have all their fireworks BOGOF. I love 'Wrath of the Gods' and 'Satanic Desecration'. We buy from there every year though and I don't know any different.
Can anyone make any recommendations to me for some amazing fireworks? We have a budget of around £70 but I am willing to spend a bit more if you recommend it. I love the big sky bursting fireworks, basically everything in the Satanic Desecration.
Our garden is big, around 15m but we can fire from further away if needed.
Can anyone please help this clueless novice? I would be eternally greatful!:j:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -
Just read back through about ten pages of the thread and I do believe I might now have to pop to Percy Thrower's in Shrewsbury thanks to Si7! Just on the phone to see if there's anything left in stock...
.. they're not sure if they do fireworks there....
...No they dont!!So.. no fireworks at the Percy Thrower's Shrewsbury Garden Centre if anyone else was thinking of going there!

Can confirm Melbick's in Birmingham also do not have the fireworks and will not be stocking them, however.. the garden centre in Walsall (Barnett Hill) does.. so i'm off!!:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0

Hi,
I have just saw your post below now as well and looks as if your heading to one of those garden centres that si7 baught from! You will get loads of brilliant stuff if you visit there as the prices are unreal!
Also, if you have £12 spare and you have a lidl near by you really should get down there and buy 1 25 carat and 1 inpenima which are on a 2 for £12 deal. From the reviews they have got they sound amazing with nearly everyone who has a main interest in fireworks buying at LEAST one! Check out a couple of pages back for a video of 25 carat it looks amazing!
This thread seems to have gone quiet recently sadly! If there are any new members who have baught there fireworks from the supermarket or any shops it would be good if you could upload a photo so everyone can have a look at what you have, thanks0
