The Great Cheap, Safe Fireworks Hunt

i've got a Standard Endeavour selection box of fireworks and Standard Evolution Party Pack from tesco and the party pack seems far better. The selection box has a lot of mega lightweight items consisting of a lot of cat2 fountains, three large Cat3 display firework fountains, two single shot Cat3 display firework roman candles, 4 Cat2 roman candles, 4xCat2 rockets and launch tube, and a small wheel. The over window dressing of the items is shocking! The partypack is better;three substantial cat3 display fountains, a decent mine, a very promising looking 16shot mine cake, and a nice chunky fountain/mine barrage. If you are buying fireworks from tesco get evolution at £20 its much better.0

Unsure what to do to add to mine now, was going to get a few bits from Lidl inc Firefighter, aquila and a fire pack but after the bad news with Aquila I dont really want to try that just incase and also hearing that firefighter is reclassified as cat 2 8m- wondering if the performance is going to be much difference ?
Hoping that there's a voucher in this weekends papers because I wouldn't mind some of those shot tubes that have been reviewed on UKFR, they look great although if I can get something else for £5 then get something free I would rather wait.
Then again there may be no voucher this year seeing as they are now with TNT0 -
Very quiet this year!0

Im hanging on for vouchers also.
I dont know ,but i wouldnt have thought the firefighter is much different,be interesting to find out.0 -
Support your local all year round independent firework shop, rather than buy from the supermarkets - if you need any help locating 1 close by then post your area and someone will surely come along and help you!0

So the fireworks international and brothers cakes are a good bet. Avoid the bright star and red devil ones?
Does anyone have any recomendations for the fireworks international and brothers cakes?
How about selection boxes (they usually contain fountains etc) are the fireworks international ones good for those as well? Or are they all rubbish and I may as well grab some weco selection packs?0 -

I know quite a lot of people tend to avoid Dancing Red Devil, they are usually very window dressed (eg lots of packaging for a tiny fountain ) and have been known to be quite unreliable. Bright star I would say isnt as bad but a lot of that seems window-dressed from pics I have viewed. A selection of their pieces arnt bad though. But to save you being dissapointed I would go for Brothers & Fireworks int.. Not sure on specific items or selection boxes but I know Weco cyber box are brilliant
I think most people would say though, you can't really go wrong with Brothers, you might find it more helpful if you take a quick look at the UKFR forum or any of the other firework forums there may be some reviews/ suggestions over there0 -

If you do go for any Brightstar items then you should expect to pay approx 50% of the RRP on most of the things they sell, you will typically see them BOGOF or 50% discounts.0
