  • Thanks for the replies and information. IN the end we plumped for the Standard fireworks packs from Tesco in their £30 range so got a large selection box which looks like the same ones we had last year TBH and they were fine for our needs. We also got a single ignition cake with 24 shots in it. I don't feel too bad as we had a voucher and money off coupon, so well under our budget and Clubcard points too!

Having seen the stuff at Thunderous on the website (only just saw it today after Tesco's!) I think I may well go and get some more rockets for a finale and we now know where to go next year!

Thanks again and enjoy your displays!

I see some familiar names on here, so I'm sure you've seen my stash pic ( m00ny).

As always though, stay safe and buy Pyro to suit your firing area/garden :)

Thought it was worth posting here, Lidl have recalled the Aquila Firework!

    "**IMPORTANT NOTICE**

The company WECO Pyrotechnische Fabrik GmbH advises against the use of the Aquila 16-shot fireworks battery production year 2012. Due to a production error the Aquila 16-shot battery could pose a safety risk.

This item is being recalled. This product must be returned to any Lidl UK store for a full refund.

Customers who have bought and used the Aquila 16-shot battery should call our Customer Services Team on 0870 444 1234 to arrange a refund.

All other fireworks sold by Lidl UK do not pose a safety risk."

Im sure they will just refund you if you take them back to the store as they have recalled them I think they have to offer refund regardless. Plus, Lidl was the only store in the UK selling these as far as im aware so I doubt a recipt would be required.

Best to be safe than sorry so I would take them back asap for your refund, maybe you could pick up something else from lidl instead with the money you get back as it does state that no other fireworks are affected.

    :)
