Unlucky is the word :( Fireworks are never 100% though, it's the nature of the beast. Weco are renowned for quality, as are the mighty Kimbolton, I must have fired 100's of Kimbolton cakes over the years without issue but did get this one below last year... Looks like you drew the short straw on the Weco this time.

On the plus side I've read a couple of reviews tonight where the Aquila has performed perfectly without problem, I shall be stocking up on Wednesday funds permitting. At £4.99 it would be rude not to!

Kimbolton Sapphire Spray misfire, cake exploded :(

About 7 years ago or so when Aldi did Weco fireworks (possibly for the first time as I don't ever recall them selling them previously) they received complaints from many people after the majority of the Weco fireworks exploded/misfired, especially the rockets.

Since then I have never trused the brand, despite all the good comments.

Can anyone recommend any mines? I had a look when I was at epic but wasn't too impressed with the ones they had.

On the subject of poor quality fireworks I would take a wide birth of Bad Boy Fireworks. We picked up their biggest SIB called megaboom last year and the thing completely fell apart about 50 of the 100 shots in, even at 25 metres they were still hitting where we were standing.

    Yeah sorry Cat 2- 5m safety distance & Cat 3- 25m distance :)

I have a few Brothers pieces that are listed on the Kerrison website in my collection for 2012 :) Il try and post some videos to a few that they stock if I get a chance tomorrow or something !

Some Cat 2 is 8m safety distance, please remember that these distances are for a reason. Fireworks are explosives and can go wrong and even when they don't go wrong you need to think about the debris falling on spectators or neighbours.

Your safety distance should be from anyone that could possibly come that close to the items including neighbours or passing joe public.

Keep safe and keep hunting and please look for your local seasonal shop - you will get alot better value for money than the supermarkets not to mention the better selection!
