Hi there!
I've just read this thread all the way through and just wanted to say ...
WOW!!! You two are amazing. I hope my kids grow up to be as compassionate, and caring as both of you. Even in her deepest debts, your Mum was rich having you two.
Way to go for your Mum, too!!! I've read this is one go- but had toremind myself that this has all happened over about 3 years- and I bet there were times when it seemed like an eternity. It's so inspiring to see what can be achieved with some good 'ol stickability and determination, along with fabulous support, of course! It's encouraged me so much, as I felt really down about lack of money today- but I know that it won't be forever.
Good luck in the future, all of you.Conquering the debts one penny at a time.....0 -
Well a blast from the past, my thread about Mum was started in 2005 and it took her a while to bust those debts ane never in my life have I been more proud of my Mum than when she made her final payment.
Tragically my Mum passed away suddenly at the beginning of February which has left myself and my family reeling, but I am so relieved that my sister and I made our secret discovery all that time ago, because the thought of finding all the debts now would just tip me over the edge.
Please please please if you are in debt and are keeping it secret, please tell someone who can help you deal with it. I am so paranoid about my Dad finding anything in the house whilst he is sorting through Mum's things which will raise his suspicions. I doubt he will but you never know.
I loved my Mum with all my heart and miss her so very very much, but re-reading this thread has proved quite cathartic and I know that Mum was so incredibly grateful for what me and my sister did for her.
Love, best wishes and positive thoughts for the future to all DFW's

Sorry for your loss!
I think it would have been awful if you and your sister had not discovered the debt and helped her to become free of it - I am sure it made a huge difference to her.
Perhaps you should not worry too much about your Dad finding out - along with discovering she had debt, he will discover that Mum sorted it out. If that happens, now is not a bad time.
Thanks for bringing this thread back to the top.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
