Thanks for the update Blade. And isn't the timing excellent. It would have looked very funny if your mum has not stopped working when your dad did. I bet you are so pleased and relieved for her.

    Thats fantastic, well done!
  • I read the entire post, being new here had never seen it before. You your sister and your Mum are completely inspirational.

I have cried (at the beginning) been bloody furious with Barclaycard and evil citibank and so amazed with you all.

I didn't realise when I started reading that the thread started in 2005, it is brilliant to see a story from beginning to end. your Mum is one tough lady, what a turn around. I am going to book mark this thread and read it when ever I am tempted to waste money and get back in to debt or God forbid get another credit card.

You and your sister, words fail me.

I am really inspired by this story
    Nevertheless she persisted.

What a story! You and Starkiller should recognise that you have done something really special, and your mum will now be in a position to actually retire with no debt thanks to the two of you!
An amazing read, I'm so glad you udated, it's lovely to see a happy ending!
Phenomenal job, both of you - I hope you're both sooo proud of yourselves. I can only hope that my two daughters turn out to be half the people you are!
I'm an adult and I can eat whatever I want whenever I want and I wish someone would take this power from me.

  • For those of you who don't know I am Blade's sister. I have just read this thread again from start to finish and I am beaming with pride for my mum.

My heart feels like it could burst with all the help, support and kind words we have had from people on this site for the last 3 years. I know some people just flit from thread to thread, but there are people on this forum in particular who are AMAZING!

I truely believe that when people are at their absolute lowest ebb that there is someone on here that can make them realise life throws you these curve balls and you just have to muster up the strength to chuck em back. I know when Blade (Rachel) and I have been feeling like we haven't had the strength to carry on in dealing with this for my mum someone on here has made us realise why we are doing it.

So Thanks one and all.....you are all amazing & I hope one day I can offer advice to someone on here that will help to change their life in the way that you lot have, no matter if it was advice or words of encouragement you have all helped me and Rachel to change our mums life for the better.

Sat in tears now............it reads like an Oscars speech :)
