The minister may wish the parents, or adult candidates, to undertake a period of instruction before baptism - each parish varies in its practice - but the Canon Law of the Church states that
"no minister shall refuse or, save for the purpose of preparing or instructing the parents or guardians or godparents, delay to baptise any infant within his cure that is brought to the church to be baptised."
Different parishes have different times for Baptism, and this is a matter for discussion between the minister and the family. The Canon Law of the Church also states that
"if the minister refuse or unduly delay to baptise an infant brought to him, the parents or guardians may apply to the Bishop of the Diocese, who shall, after consultation with the minister, give such direction as he thinks fit."When people show you who they are, believe them the first time0

Goodness me Pigpen! Baptism is supposed to be about the child, not any circumstances involving anyone else! No wonder you're cross.Saving up £25000/£3500 by Jan 1st 2012 by selling my clutter. Remember I'm doing it for Dad.
Textiles, languages, travel and a lovely home are not stupid things to want. You have immediate family's support.Appreciate what I've achieved so far. Other people's opinion of me is none of my business.0

I second Nattyt, 9 children! Fantastic Pigpen! I love big families. Good luck sorting the baptism.
Glad to hear that the 'floordrobe' is not the floor of the wardrobe, instead its the massive pile of clean washing in my bedroom! I should get to it before it falls over.0

He's a great bloke! I'm sure he'll try and sort something out for you....
Although personally I would take great delight in discussing this with said vicar...and pointing out exactly what FW did! Not using that language you understand...
Yeah.. that'd be him.. I am very bad and get utterly confused by such things..
Vicar chap has always had issues because I don't go to church.. but I do send the children when they are too small to make up their own mind.. so that when they are older they can make an informed choice about whether or not they continue going.. and as I have told him before.. I promised that I would raise the children as part of the church family.. I did not ever say I was willing to partake.. KH used to take them because I got everyone up and ready to go.. that was my only time off for many years the 3 hours they were out on a Sunday morning so there was no way I'd go!
Sockdrawer.. exactly.. It is not her fault things panned out as they did.. had KH not done what he did and left she wouldn't even be here.. she is the positive from all that grief and trauma.
Anyway.. I am considering making the time to speak to the Rev.T and giving him the sharp side of my tongue BUT I do not want to jeopardise the 3 evenings the children go (1 dance class and 2 age appropriate Bible classes) and a couple of other churchgoers collect them and bring them home which I am incredibly grateful for (In fact I need to get them a small christmas gift to thank them .. *adds to list*) .. They all love going and want to continue.
I had a big smile this evening.. Tiddles and Moomin were interacting with Freja.. seeing who could make her smile and cuddling her and talking to her.. before they would kiss her goodnight and pat her on the head but they actually made some effort with her now she is a little more interractive which was lovely. DS3 decided he wanted to *play* with OH so was being overbearing as only ASD children can and of course it ends in tears.. I said to OH.. just hug him.. he will then be fine and go calm down.. It actually felt like the famiy ties were pulled a bit tighter which was so nice.
And for those of you who remember last year when my nephew was killed in a road accident.. the trial of the driver starts next week.. it was postponed a few days as the initial date was Nicholas's birthday!!
Off to do some knitting and see if I can declutter a film from my HD..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

 Thank you!!
They have a 6 week 'Baptism course' which I have attended with one of my older children.. but am happy to do so again.
The problem we have mainly is that while I do not attend church I ensure the children do.. and Freja will be less likely to go to this church but she will attend the one 120 miles away at least twice a month with OH's mum.. but as my family is bigger we would like to have the baptism here, at the church where all my others were done.
I shall wait until I am less cross and speak to him.. I promise to go unarmed, not cuss and keep level-headed..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0
