    Ouch Mudbath, my DH says it is essential that you get it out, and that you need to sterilise the end of a needle and have a poke round like you would for any other splinter.

    Mudders sometimes putting a big dob of cream on it and covering it for overnight can draw it out. Homeopathic silicea is to draw things out too.
