Ive got it in my head to have a move around of furniture in the living room. This stems from a random thought that I should move the bookcase away from the room thermostat. I might start tonight.

Ive been to my voluntary job today.

Shysarah. Hugs and take it easy.
serena Thanks. She is much the same today. We are just waiting to see which way it goes.

this was what I was posting about rather madly earlier - there was a bit on Woman's Hour about it. They had two women on there, one who did housework and one who didn't (filthy mare ;)) and the one that did kept on about using management principles etc as a motivation tool - and I was in the car shouting 'get on the flylady forum!' at the radio :D:D Worth a listen on iplayer, it's very funny, and listening to the bloke from the school explain how to iron sheets is :eek:

The house is now so spick and span :A I deserve a medal!! I've even got some HM mushroom soup ready for when DH & MIL get here, and a hot water bottle for her bed.. I'm going to catch up with fred with a large glass of red..anyone else want one?

shysarah glad to hear you're home ok. Lots of rest for you please!

Hugs to toots, LW, LL, & Diva

aj Its been dry here all day and very windy and bitterly cold when i went out just now to bring the washing in - it only went out at lunchtime and wasnt properly spun but its 98% dry so just finishing off on the airer - its amazing what a difference a few miles can make! Doh!! I was forgetting you would b e working Sunday - hope the weather is better or it will be miserable for you all parading.

It will be nice to get DH organised with all his planning and like you say its an easier weekend for both of you. When does he officially take up his post?

I need to move up to the next county, we have had awful rain here although not so cold. The weather reports have been ok for Sunday but there is still time for it to change!

OH is already doing the job, we are just waiting for the council to draw up his new contract. The head sent a really nice email around the teachers yesterday congratulating OH, so many teachers have said they were appalled (sp?) that he didn't get it initially but everyone has congratulated him too which is good. Just waiting to see if a friend from another school will get his part time post, at least we know what to brief her on for the interview!

How are you feeling after your cleaning, I hope it didn't take too much out of you x

Hugs to everyone, happy weekend :j x

Onestep when you posted earlier I clicked that it was womans hour, but I'd missed it (cleaning!!!) and went back to i-player to listen to it. Goodness me! What did strike me was there seemed to be a vein of "I'm too good for housework" or "I'm far to interesting a person to be bothered by that type of thing..." which always makes me a bit cross. Interesting though. I did have a look at the Housework Academy's website out of interest.... but I prefer flylady x

Textiles, languages, travel and a lovely home are not stupid things to want. You have immediate family's support.Appreciate what I've achieved so far. Other people's opinion of me is none of my business.

Really pleased it worked out well in the end ajmoney and good that people are coming out and saying they are appalled he didn't get it etc. Hopefully that will make a good working atmosphere for him. x

yes!! that's exactly how I felt too. Like they were faaaarrrrrr too up their own *cough* to actually care about wanting to live in a home that shows you care about your health or your possessions or your surroundings

Besides which.. the flylady forum is about soo much more than cleaning :D:p

onestep Glad it wasn't just me!!! I notice that attitude a lot among my own friends I've got one who "doesn't do" housework because her whole attitude is she's too rock and roll, but she continually tries to put me in my place by saying I'm a "right domestic goddess" fizzzz. Her problem not mine!

to me, the bit I've highlighted illustrates that she feels a bit threatened by it :D hehehehe! I like being a domestic goddess-in-training ;) (and wish that Nigella hadn't turned that phrase into a parody)

hey-ho.. I'll get off my soap box now :o
