Re Velvet

My opinion is that they never intended to pay out anything like the £5 million as advertised.

Their Terms and conditions mention -

" Every prize will be awarded only if all pack codes are entered. The actual final number of prizes awarded will depend on the number of codes that are entered."

Not quite sure what this really means, but I have read it in other t's and c's lately.

A few weeks ago I got a cheque for £1 which should have been £10 so I sent an email to SCAgeneralenquiries@sca.com with VELVET MONEY TREE COMPETITION as the subject heading. I did get a reply that they would look into it so anyone with a query could try this email address. I did eventually get my cheque for £10.

Same has happened to me!! Received 4 cheques today (oldest one from February) - 3 x £5.32 and 1 x £1.32 (which should have been my £10 win) :( Have emailed them so fingers crossed...

I've been Money Tipped!
Received a first class letter from Velvet this morning as follows...

"Dear ******* **********

Thank you for participating in the Velvet Money Tree promotion.

As you will be aware promotional packs state clearly that the promotion is limited to one entry per household per day, and it appears that your household has made entries in excess of this limit.

Therefore after full consideration and careful examination of the circumstances , and in consultation with the Institute of Promotional Marketing who have confirmed that we are acting within the terms and conditions of the promotion, we regret to advise you are unable to claim your prize.

We appreciate that this may be disappointing. If you have any questions as to why your claim can not be processed, then please call our Customer Services Helpline on 0800 012 2366, Monday to Friday between the hours of 9am and 5pm.

Kind regards,

(unsigned)

Triple Velvet Money Tree Customer Care Team"

Just phoned them on their (freephone :)) helpline and they're going to re-examine the case.

Hope this helps.

I can't see what rule you've broken. Different address = different household so same IP or not it shouldn't be a problem. No different really than several people entering from a communal computer in a public library for example.

No, this smells strongly of Velvet having screwed up quite badly and faced with receiving more claims than expected are trying to save face.

I advise anyone receiving these letters to call the freephone number and make your opinion known in the strongest possible terms.

It seems there are two different letters - one says you have not included the promotional packaging and this was not required on the claim form until a few days ago.

The other seems to say that people have played more than once a day.
