Oh and if they are legal and above board then why are the BBC & the Ombudsman investigating them?

The BBC and the FOS investigate many things, as do the Police.

Just because something is "investigated" that doesn't make it illegal.

If sub prime loans are all that you are eligible for then they can't do much else - can they? The service they offered was to try and broker a loan for you - they've provided that service. It's not their fault that the results don't match your expectations...

I wanted a Payday loan, not the crap they offered, as i said i was niave and caught out, lesson learned, but its still preying on those in need AND A SCAM...

I know Sweaty from the other forum he mentioned & he's a straight up guy who has helped out a lot of other modeller's as well as being a respected member.
I doubt very much if he'd be caught out by not reading the small print so I'm inclined to believe the is something dodgy about how these 'people' practice their work.

No "scam" and they're only preying on those who don't investigate why they are handing over their card details...

spike7451: I appreciate your respect for the guy (and I have no disrespect - how could I - I don't know them!) - but when I just went and did a dummy application for a loan, an orange box was shown on the screen clearly displaying the amount to be charged for "membership" along with all the (speculative) details for the loan should I be accepted. It's almost impossible to miss it!

OK, you're not told of the cost of membership before you start your application - but you sure are told before you enter your card details and complete it. Therefore, I can't possibly see how it is a scam. It's like ordering something off the internet and then complaining because a £20 shipping cost was added into your "shopping basket" at the time of checkout and you didn't notice.

It's just NOT a scam. Sure, warn people that their brokering service is expensive - fine - I've no problem with that, but ranting about them being "thieves" and about how they've "scammed" you is just plain wrong. The clues are all there - people need to be more aware of why they are handing out their card details.
My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.
They are not a substitute for professional financial advice - but you knew that already didn't you? ;)

    Fools rush in !!!!!
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.

Anyway hopefully I have warned other people and stopped them being scammed so I don't give a fat shiny one what you say! I did not come on here to get a lecture off you lot! Bye

Check the terms and conditions, if its a personality tax you will get a full refund.

If however it is a stupidity bill you have no chance.

Feel free to respond, I really dont give a big fat shiny one :rotfl:
  • I have also been caught out by this company and can swear, hand on heart, that this orange box was nowhere to be seen two weeks ago. I have since been contacted by a national newspaper asking for my story regarding this country. The only thing that I can think of is that The Loan-Centre are now covering their backs due to all the interest that is now being shown to their dodgy dealings.

I doubt very much whether this company or any of the other brokers need to "cover their backs", as they all state in their T's and C's that they are a broker and will charge a fee.

The problem is, has and always will be people not doing the most basic of research or checking the contract that they are entering into.

The Loan Centre even make it more obvious than most by showing the membership fee on screen, again, at the point of application.
