  • Just had a look at the messages from the poor ppl scammed by this company well i was one of them however i gave them no permission to take money from my account in fact it turns out they have my account details but the application is in someone elses name (I HAVE NEVER APPLIED TO THESE RIP OFF MERCHANTS NOR WOULD I EVER!!). After many hours being put on hold i eventually get through to their customer service a guy called Tom Parker "Really bad at attitude" I explain my situation to him and he tells me if i stop hassling them they will be able to sort out the problem i have only sent 2 emails and made 1 phone call but they see this as harrasment i explain i have contacted the police and the fraud investigation department at my local bank he tells me he gets around 15 calls per day from people claiming to have an application made fraudlently in their name so they need to investigate my case further but remember the application they have isnt in my name so is this not proof enough that i was not the person who made the application? Anyway i ask the name of the manager he tells me it is Harry Williams when i ask to speak to him i get told he is not available "How conveniant" I have now contacted trading standards hopefully with their help and the police i will get this mess sorted out.

First thing is to stop filling out application forms for loans online and giving all and sundry your debit card details.

Are you sure you could have repaid this Payday loan when it was due (including the interest) when you are on benefits?

Losing £67 this Month is nothing compared to what you would have lost if you took the loan and failed to repay it on time.

I am one of the poor unfortunates who didn't fill out an online form for a loan. I am perplexed on how the loan centre got my card details, and indeed my phone number or e-mail address.

Not only did the loan centre take £74.95 from me, but I am getting perhaps 30 texts and calls a day offering me payday loans, normal loans, asking me if I've had an accident and I am due £3K, offering me to write off all debts for nothing etc. etc.

All the companies ignore the "stop" texts I send back (at my cost - some charge £1 a text!), and the people who ring tell me they cannot "authorise" the removal of my details from their database, often leading to me giving the people calling some almighty abuse.

Unfortunately by bank - Santander - have washed their hands of it. They know it's a scam, I've been told as such, but they will not touch it as fraud. They tell me that as the Loan Centre is an actual company, they can only treat it as a "not recieved services" claim, in which they credit me and then write/contact the loan centre. Of course, if the loan centre ignore them - as they surely will - they take the money out again, and my only course of action is to go to the police.

And whilst Southend Police confirm they are investigating the Loan Centre (and indeed the supposed "respectable" company which provides them service, Nostrum), that's about it - they can't get your money back.

For me, it's not the money, it's the principle. No-one will deal with this company, no-one has the bottle to take them on.

It's enough to drive you insane. It's as if someone broke into your house, stole £70, everyone can see who did it, knows who did it, you have a long trail of evidence who did it, but no-one can be bothered to deal with it.

My only advice is if you do get caught by these scum:-

    1) Contact your bank and cancel your card with immediate effect. They actually set a daily recurring value from my card.
    2) Tell your bank it's fraudlent and ask them to do something - i.e. challenge the payment.
    3) Check out other posts for their address and some dummy letters including various legislative points, write to them and tell them to return the money to you. They will have to do this, it may take 30 days.
    4) Join my facebook group (danger/richard carter/loan centre) which is designed to expose them.

I'm determined to bring these f***ers down some way. I've been spending my time reviewing the Nostrum Group - who provide the services - discrediting them wherever I can, whilst making sure to stick to the facts, have reported to "Linkedin" to get them removed, have e-mailed all contacts from the directors/employees on Linkedin about the activities of the Nostrum Group, and have told everyone I can find.
  • What a charming lady you are Lucy loo.

People have given you good advice and yet you don't seem to want to listen. You shouldn't think that people are lecturing you, they are merely giving you advice in the hope that you don't fall for the same trick again.

You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.

    Ho hum...

I was hit by this same SCAM. Yes it is a scam. You wouldnt pay £47 (like they took from me) or any amount to use GOOGLE or a search engine, so why would you to use their search engine to find a loan that is not guaranteed. In this day and age you wouldnt think things as ludacris as this would still be able to go on!!! If you can justify the way they are taking money from people FOR NOTHING, then you must be a sales person. Or just a complete W*N*ER. Its people like you that encourage wan***S like these to continue doing what they are doing. You are pretty much justifying it. Now instead of being on here, Im sure you have some old lady to try and scam with new double glazing, surely???? :rotfl:

Wow - now there's an unwarranted outburst... Whether or not they give people a loan, people are happily handing over their credit/debit card details for the "service" offered. If you (and others) don't read and understand why you are handing over these details, then these companies will continue to make money out of you. The only ludacris [sic] thing going on here is people willingly handing out their card details to strangers without knowing why they are doing so.
My posts are my own opinions based on my experiences and info gathered from sites such as this.
They are not a substitute for professional financial advice - but you knew that already didn't you? ;)

Have you not tried going to the small claims court to get your money back?

membership fee you say 'Hax' ?? you don't by any chance work in the loan broker industry? I've heard all the scams - one of the best is that the £60 is for sending a courier with the loan agreement.

'Membership fees' are just another way to take the loan application fee from you I'm afraid folks. At the end of the day the law is on your side and if you are not provided with a satisfactory loan offer you are entitled to a refund.

    Well there's a revelation.........NOT.

I find it ridiculous that you imply everyone who can read a websites T&C's must be connected with them.
