It looked to me that they were just bowling and waiting for the batsman to get himself out, rather than anything else.

When your captain and vice captain just give their wickets away without much of a fight, any team will be in trouble.

Punter's wicket was just a joke, I mean !!!!!! was that shot?

Hussey and Haddin looked good batting together but when your top order has failed you like that it was always going to be a matter of tmie before one or other got out and then the hutch is swinging open with only Johnson standing between you and the real bunnies.

TBH I thought Siddle was the pick of the batting when comparing ability to application. I thought his knock of 35 was a pretty decent one, especially given the circumstances.

The locals are spitting chips as they say in these parts. As an old fella said to me in the pub tonight, pointing at Punter and Clarke: "See them two, biggest pair of [ahem] in Perth and that takes some doing over there."

Doubtless you only got back what you gave a week ago thoough!

Some have spoken about the series being a foregone conclusion. Obviously now it isn't...
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

Yeah, the low point came when a very senior manager shouted across the office, "What the @£$%'s happened to our automated wicket announcer?".

Oh well. Plenty of cricket yet to be played.

Too true, whatever total England have to chase the aussies will be jittery having seen South Africa chase 414 successfully not that long ago in Perth. Also, England need to push Bell higher up the order.
  • Wow. Convicts out for 98. England on 157 for no loss. What's going on?

Apparently its the first time since something like 1912 that the opening pair have scored more than the Aussie total. At the MCG too, huge venue. Ouch.
