My thoughts exactly. Some cars can do 3 or 4 times this mileage without a problem. The renault isn't one of these cars.Cover me in honey and fling me to the hermaphrodites!0 -
Just a quick update
So i've owned it for just over a week now and things are running well with the car
I put £55 of diesel in when i got it and it gave it just over 3/4 of a tank. I've done 254 miles in it and have just over half a tank left so it's definately much better on fuel than the RenaultSport clio i had.
I've done a few basic mechanical steps with the car like clean the EGR valve as i understand these are a massive problem and thankfully it wasn't that coked up.
I've removed them cambelt cover to check the belt and it's definately been changed along with a new water pump, aux belt, pullies etc.
I'm going to do an oil change next week and i'm extremely happy with the car
Yes they can be problematic if you ge a lemon but i seem to have done ok with this once plus if i do regular oil changes and a constant check on the EGR valve i hope i'll have many more miles in this car
Now all i have to do is adjust my driving style from driving a 2.0 litre 200bhp hot hatch to a 1.9 120bhp diesel !!
Massive difference in both cars but suprisingly i enjoy the Laguna much more than the Clio as it feels much more grown up compared to the ClioIf Adam and Eve were created first

Nice :T
They get a lot of flak but I've been more than happy with mine - 4300 miles in.0 -

It's still a baby haha
In all fairness this is the highest mileage car i've ever owned but seeing how money is so tight at the mo, i've had to get rid of my pride and joy. Gut wrenching but needed to be done.If Adam and Eve were created first

Well it's done ~21,500 miles (but yeah) - I'm the 2nd owner
I'm maybe going to have to get rid of it when my insurance renewal comes in though :eek:0 -

The rising costs of motoring is getting crazy now isn't it.
My insurance has dropped £40 per month for owning a diesel rather than the clio sport
Goes much further too lol. If i was still runnng the 2.0 litre clio i'd have used the tank with 6 days yet 8 days in with the diesel and more mileage covered i've still got over half a tank left.
Sure it's no where near as quick, I prob look like a grandad compared to a youth in a hot hatch but i'll take the money savings over style any dayIf Adam and Eve were created first

Haha yeah - I bought it for comfort more than anything else (I'm 19 - 20 tomorrow :rotfl: - mates think I'm going on 50)
Can drive from here (Central Scotland) to the West Midlands (~320 miles) and feel very fresh at the other end compared to feeling half dead in something like a Corsa or Astra.0 -

I totally agree.
My commute home from Central London to the outskirts is roughly 15 miles each way. In the Clio i couldn't wait to get out of it and got so wound up driving it.
The Laguna however was lovely last night. It took me and hour and 20 mins last night due to adverse weather and honestly i didnt get stressed one bit!If Adam and Eve were created first

It's a Renault, there is far more than the engine to worry about.:D0

Oh i know
All of my cars have been Renault and the only major prob i've ever had is when my Renault Sport Clio 182 cambelt snapped. Luckily it was covered under warranty thoughIf Adam and Eve were created first
