"the world of home made knickers" :rotfl:
Happy sewing, have a good weekend!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Anyone make any pants at the weekend then?
I didn't, but inspired by the t shirt patchwork cut up a load of old tops and stuff that was in the fabric bag (the butterfly and bee things were from some very silly pyjamas that my slightly eccentric auntie gave me :rotfl:)...
Have sewn about half of it together and will finish the rest over the week - need to find something to back it with though.
Other than that, the weekend consisted of gardening - planted a few new salad containers, weeded the veg patch and planted out leeks and turnip seedlings. Also popped along to festival thingy in local park where we met the farm people again and sorted out signing up :T Sat and watched a couple of bands but I started feeling all achy and irritable so went home, where I wrapped myself up in a blanket and felt generally sorry for myself.
Sunday was a bit better, still feeling grumpy, but managed to get a bit of studying done, and went to a 'herb day' in the afternoon with a talk from a herbalist and lots of lovely plants to buy.. came home with a lemon balm and a collection of little chamomile plants. Also pinched a little bit of catmint that was growing in the park.. cue one happy and slightly mad cat for the rest of the day :rotfl:
Spent the evening looking at apartments for Paris (I got grumpy again as we just can't decide) and had a bit of a late night so rather sleepy this morning. Got a three day week though :T Were planning on maybe going camping at the weekend, but forecast isn't too great, so may have to think of some indoor (or at least non-tent-related) things to do!
Anyway other than time off, plans for this week are one chapter of Philosophy book, half of next English book, start essay which is due in 3 weeks, play flute a couple of times, finish patchwork, and make sure I do timesheets for second job. Talking of which, that extra work is carrying on till at least the end of July so I can count on at least another £300. Should find out this week if the funding is carrying on too.
Right.. work.. or possibly coffee...Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
poor grumpy squizz! Hope you're feeling better. That blanket is jolly darn good!
(and no, I didn't make any knickers :rotfl: but it's on the list! :T :T)0 -
The patchwork is lovely! You're so creative, sigh .... sorry you felt grumpy (I wrote grumpty, lol) tho, did you sort of spend too long out, hormonal, what was it, do you know? Tho not finding the right apartment *now* for Paris is part of it!
And coffee. I recommend more coffee2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Grumpty
Hormones, heat and tiredness I think. Had terrible 'don't want to go to work-iness' yesterday too (still got that today, and I'm here lol).
Ooh meant to say, when we saw the farm people they had the first crops off the land, picked that morning - onions and potatoes - very exciting!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Very exciting indeed Squizz! :T :T
Do they have a website yet? I was trying to dig (ha ha) around for one the other day and couldn't find anything recent... Do you have info about prices etc or will I have to ring them up? (I did mean to join ages ago, and have been entirely put off by the fact that I vaguely don't like one of the people involved:rotfl: :rotfl:)

Will PM you the website - it's not that up-to-date though, have got a leaflet with better info that I can scan at work tomorrow - assuming we are talking about the same scheme :rotfl: I think there a similar thing in the north of the city too.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

Hmm yum... yesterday I discovered that you can eat the seed pods of radishes (OK so ideally they shouldn't flower, but the odd one always seems to) - they've got a mild radishy flavour and you get loads of one plant as opposed to just one radish. Just had some leftover greek salad from lunch yesterday with some radish pods chucked in.. yum!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0

How interesting! You've definitely got a microholding going on there!2023: the year I get to buy a car0

A microholding - I like that
I also ate some ivy-leaved toadflax yesterday - it tasted, erm, green.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0
