I love it :D You'll get there with the garden, it takes time. I felt really 'connected' to the garden yesterday - does that sound weird? Obviously it has been really important to me for ages, but I really felt like I knew every little corner of it, like we (well mostly I as I am chief gardener) had 'made' it....

Ooh yes, mango chutney - a friend of mine made that with a load of Aldi cheap mangoes the other year. The farmers market has some real bargains too - we got carrots, cucumber, cauliflower, tomatoes, radishes, broccoli and onions from one stall for £5.40 altogether!

Hehe.. just done a bit of lunchtime seed foraging - loads of bright red poppies around the edges of the local park so I have acquired a few seed heads so we have another colour to add to the mix of ours next year (I'll add some to your seed parcel Karma!)

Been doing some serious email unsubscribing over the last few days - definitely making a difference to the amount of stuff I get and just delete!

Thank you! What a lovely way to spend your lunch hour.... I'd like to walk somewhere if I didn't think I was going to overheat, sob ....

What temperature is it down there? Max 31C here today - it's only slightly more pleasant outdoors than in the office as there is a (warm) breeze out there. Think I will be watering the garden again tonight... talking of tonight, Mr S is going out for a colleague's leaving do - have to admit am really looking forward to a few hours in by myself! Wondering whether to do something productive or just collapse on the sofa!

I think it was similar, tbh - it got very very humid - like there was going to be a real storm, but just a few big raindrops, and it stopped, nothing happened :( I wish it had! I had a bit of a walk up the road, but too many flying ants. I did walk round the corner to stroke the blind cat with only 3 legs thats had cancer (I'm not kidding, either - it insists on sitting out on the grass verge, and I've got permission from her owner to go onto the drive to stroke the cat, which is something I never do :) ).

Boiling now .... off to hunt the fruit juice. Enjoy your evening in!

Aww poor cat! Nice that you specially go and stroke it though :)

I had a nice evening - pottered round the garden (that big poppy had blown away by the end of the day!!), made my tea and a big vat of veggie curry (so we have something to eat tonight after badminton.. eek badminton), sorted out seed packages, had a bit of a tidy up, played my flute for about an hour - really enjoyed that, attempted to wash up with no washing up liquid (lemon juice is a wonderful thing), and then sat and read till Mr S came home.

Been at an 'away day' with work this morning (only till lunchtime though - that's not a 'day'!), back in the office now but finding it extremely hard to get going. Not feeling exactly full of sporting energy for later but hopefully I'll perk up.

Sounds good to me! Hurray to poppies - weird in this weather, I'm not surprised a seedhead got blown away, not really ...

Have a good un the rest of today - its pelting with rain here now (I still miss that confused smiley!) so I may get away with doing no gardening work at all :)

Ah the seedhead is still there - just all the petals blew off! Will harvest some from that once it's dried out a bit.

Played badminton last night - was good fun :D Mr S beat me in every game but I wasn't too bad.. bit achy today though!

Anyway, a good day - only at work this morning then off to tootle with Cheery this afternoon (stocking up on some suitably good cake on the way!) :j

Just popping in to wave after our tootling session :) Which involved eating quite a bit of cake, and some tea too :D Don't know how I'd managed to miss your diary! :T
