  • Well it's all done! We're married, the day was lovely and went so well, everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and we managed to avoid the rain.

Hope everyone's days have managed to go off smoothly!
  • we avoided the rain too, but it was far too cold for us all to hang around the church for after photos :(

Well done and congrats to everyone who got married this weekend! I've put some of my pics up here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3684307 and some of Claire's are here: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/3682153

We had a brilliant day - sunny from the moment I left my hotel till the sun went down.We hardly did any of the photos we'd planned, forgot to cut our cake and did our first dance sneakily in private cos we got too shy! The ceremony was amazing - and the longest registry office one I've ever been to. Our friends did amazingly with their readings and duties. My brother and father were incredible making sure everything went smoothly. My friend's 17 year old daughter copped off with the reception venue caretaker (luckily he was only in his early 20s, not as bad as it sounded!). Our wedding night, courtesy of MSE weekly email, was actually 2 nights in a lovely hotel and we loved every second.

Some day I'll post up my lessons learned (e.g. NEVER walk into a massive hall filled with your friends and family without your husband - a round of applause on your own is mortifying! :D )

Hope you all had as amazing a day as we did,

    Lucy xxxx
