Hi All
Where do i start,my wife and i are both on DMPs with the CCCS while looking through the bundle of paperwork in the loft i came across some of the debt's i cleared back in 2006 when we took out a secure loan.
I also have my credit report from 2009 ( i knew that would come in handy 1 day)
I had several cards which i would like to try to claim back the PPI but im not sure if it is worth me trying to claim for the PPIs which started pre 2005.
Taken from my credit report i have
1.Egg card started 19/7/2005 settled 31/03/2006
2.Citi card started 19/12/2002 settled 21/12/2007
3.Capital 1 card started 28/08/2002 settled 09/02/2006
4.Easy money card started 2004 settled 2007 (not on my credit report but i have statements from 2004-06
The wife has an Cahoot loan from oct 2005 and a capital 1 mastercard from around the same time.
I have the Easy money statements but very little for the other accounts,do i write to them all (Hope the address on my credit report are correct) asking for the policy’s terms and conditions (including the £1 cheques) before sending the fos Questionnaire.
We have taken out several secured loans and a couple were with SPML (now settled)these were back in 2003 +2004 i did pay for PPI but i assume this is to far back to try to reclaim, apart from that looking at the forums SPML are not the most helpfull of companys.
Any help or advice will be gratefully recieved :T

Hi All

If you win mis sell the refunds will go to your dmp, this is a good thing as your debt reduces.
I also have my credit report from 2009 ( i knew that would come in handy 1 day)
I had several cards which i would like to try to claim back the PPI but im not sure if it is worth me trying to claim for the PPIs which started pre 2005.
Some on here have won from before 05, some from the 90s!!
Taken from my credit report i have
1.Egg card started 19/7/2005 settled 31/03/2006
2.Citi card started 19/12/2002 settled 21/12/2007
3.Capital 1 card started 28/08/2002 settled 09/02/2006
You could put a claim in with the dates you have and the settlement figures, i have and that was all they needed.
4.Easy money card started 2004 settled 2007 (not on my credit report but i have statements from 2004-06
You have the account number for this?, so you do not need to request anything more.
The wife has an Cahoot loan from oct 2005 and a capital 1 mastercard from around the same time.
You can request agreements for these write to the company requesting agreements, these cost £1 each.
I have the Easy money statements but very little for the other accounts,do i write to them all (Hope the address on my credit report are correct) asking for the policy’s terms and conditions (including the £1 cheques) before sending the fos Questionnaire.
You have enough info for the cards (as i stated above) to claim mis sell now. Look here for reasons that may apply to you.

Remember to put the address where you lived when you took these cc and loans out (if you have moved since).
We have taken out several secured loans and a couple were with SPML (now settled)these were back in 2003 +2004 i did pay for PPI but i assume this is to far back to try to reclaim, apart from that looking at the forums SPML are not the most helpfull of companys.
Do you know if the ppi on the secured loans was front loaded? as this is a clear win. Yes you can still put a claim in for these.
If you need anymore help just yell, we will help you all the way with this.
Any help or advice will be gratefully recieved :T0 -

Hi there.
Many have still been successful in making reclaims going back to even the 90's, so you still stand a chance.
If mis sold the ppi then give it a go and not only that if your still paying for the ppi added to the debt now, its worthless to you, as your not going to be using it for example unemployment/sickness etc.
If the accounts are still active, then they should be able to supply a copy of the agreements, so if you write a simple letter request they send you a copy of the agreement/apply the account number if you have this or give them as many details as possible, full name, addresses lived in when the policy was also taken out, any name changes and so on, this will make it easier for them to track down any of the info.
Enclose £1 cheque or postal order for each agreement request, and ask they comply by 12-14 days of your letter.
However, you can "optionally" request for a SAR (Subject access request) where they have 40 calendar days to comply and send all the data they still hold on the account.
If you taken out a few accounts with the same business, then only one SAR should be requested for, as this should cover all accounts taken out with the same bank etc.
You enclose £10 cheque or postal order for the SAR, and there is a full letter to request the SAR hereL

If you get contacted by any claims companies, I personally would not bother with them and have a go yourself with free help from this site.
As soon as you know what is what, although, so long as you have your reasons and your account numbers, you can still continue to make a reclaim on the ppi.
So you can do this by completing the reclaiming questionnaire, send to whoever was responsible for setting up the account(s), keep copies of all you send and receive - in case you need to refer to this at some point.
They do normally have 8 weeks to give a decision, but they may write to ask for more time.

Also just to confirm, if any of these accounts are under a DMP, its possible if your successful any refund awards of the ppi will be awarded to the account to help reduce the debt balance, and anything remaining plus interest should be refunded directly to you.
Hope this helps, good luck with this.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"

Hi All
On the SPPL question,i have the Credit agreements and the insurance certs,on the first one dated 4/01/03 i paid £1680 for single cover on a £12000 loan total £13680 ( is that what you mean by front loaded?)
We then took out another loan with them on the 26/08/03 for £20000 and paid another £2800 for single protection.from this total £14465.69 was to clear the previous loan.
These loans were arranged through a company called finance house and the PPI was with Marketing and Management Services LTD through Lloyds of London.
I think i took out another secure loan and settled this approx 12 months later.
As i have the Agreements and certs do i need to send a SAR to get anything else before i fill in and send the Consumer Questionaire ( i assume thats my next move)
On the Credit Agreements there are 4 boxes next to the payment protection insurance (optional in brackets) the single box has been crossed but i can't remember being asked if we wanted protection ? as i would have said no as i had plenty of sickness cover from my job
Thanking you in advance

These are frontloaded loans, the fos dont look too kindly on these policies. You have all the info you need, account numbers etc, fill the form in, or you can do it in your words in a letter, just put you were mis sold these insurances and give your reasons (the main one being they were frontloaded) you had cover elsewhere etc,and you want ppi paid to date back with interest and any still running you want reset without ppi. Just a few words will do it, put that the 2 loans were rolled over, photocopy the agreements and send recorded.Hi All

It looks like SPPL have ceased trading and their work was taken over by Capstone Mortgages
Southern Pacific Personal Loans - now Capstone Mortgage Services
Registered Office
Capstone Mortgage Services
2nd Floor, St. Johns Place,
Easton Street,
High Wycombe, HP111NL
Should i send it here or to the company who issued the PPI cert,Marketing and Management services ltd or to the address on the agreement for SPPL and hope it gets forwarded to the correct people.

Hi there
Whoever set this up for you is the ones you pursue.
If that who dealt with your application are no longer active, maybe they are registered with the Financial compensation scheme (FSCS), many of us have had to go this direction for the same reason and if they are listed with them.
If this is the case contact the FSCS to request a claim form here:

Hope this helps.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"
