Work is ok, still a bit stressy but then that's supermarkets at Christmas i suppose. The weather is awful, it was -9 the other morning, today it's still snowing, we have about 10inches in the places where noone has walked, liked my back garden, but most of the main roads are open now. Buses and schools still not operational but that doesn't worry me too much. How is it where you guys are?0

We are under about 2-3ft I cant get my back door open and my DH hasnt been home for 3 days. Just spent 2 hours trying to clear our road with neigbours only for another inch to fall, main thing is we are all safe well and warm with plenty of food in the cupboards.
Next month I will be short on money as we lose our pay when we dont go in, think its time to start looking for a job closer to home.MARCH 2016 DEBT £25750/ £25035

My goodness 2-3ft! Shame about not getting paid, but then yu must have had a few NSD so maybe that'll help make up for it
Good on you and your neighbours for helping each other out. I wish more people would be so nice to each other.
Feeling good today. Went to see a show in Sheffield last night and it was brilliant, haven't been out for so long and it was much needed.
I have drawn out money for everything for the month and it's looking good on the money front for this month as long as we stick to the budget and nothing unexpected turns up!0 -

Right, just checked Play and have ordered the MIL book from them, got it £5 cheaper than from the shop in town and was able to use Play funds so no money coming out of the acount :j
Hoping to transfer some of the other funds after Christmas and use them towards the tesco card. Looking for some other things to put on there, games for the wii seem to be selling well but i think i want all the ones i have left, and dvd's seem to begoing ok too. Might go through the collection later and see if ther's any more i want to get rid of. We do have a lot due to our old jobs so maybe some are rare or something!
I have started to put together the hamper for my m and d and the mil and fil, also got my secret santa the other day, so have bought a couple of bits and bobs, going to dot hem a hamper as well, based around baking.
Me and my sisters and brothers do secret santa every year so we only have to buy one present instead of 8, but i always get the difficult ones. My sister loves baking though, so i've got her some different baking extracts, some fancy cupcake cases, and ...well i'm not sure what else, maybe some cookie cutters? We have a limit of £15 and i have about £9 left so...not sure any ideas? I have a basket to put it all in and wa thinking of wrapping it in a plain table cloth instead of paper.
The mil has so far... 1 posh jar, like a kilner jar but lakelands own, some wax discs for the tops of the jams and chutneys, the book i've ordered, pickling spice, a bottle of fancy vinegar, and a basket to put it all in (i got this off freecycle, and used it at our wedding for the cutlery, waste not want not eh?!)
Got my dad his bag of liquorice and some stem ginger, he's like me and loves food, so each year i make him a hamper of all things foody.
Right, off to heck the pasties!0 -
Sounds very yummy...
Re your sisters hamper..agree re cookie cutters.. Small rolling pin? How about nice tea cloth? Apron? Kitchen shops should have some ideas.

Yes Brizzle i was thinking an Apron, she is very clean and tidy and organised, she lives in the most gorgeous house with her hubby, and spends all the time she's not at work, making it look beautiful. So she's difficult to buy for, that's why i thought useable tings would be better, i don't think getting her anything which would be on show is a very good idea. But a nice tea cloth, apron and cooking stuff can be hidden away can't it! That way if she hates it, or it clashes with the curtains she can pop it out of sight!
Right, really must clean the bathroom and kitchen as have friends coming tonight for a girly night in while hubby is working late.
