Yes. You can get the CWP if you receive income support and receive a disability premium within your CTC.

I am in similar circumstances to you. People I knew were getting the CWP and we werent, when I eventually rang to ask them why they had no record of our disability claim. Maybe worth a quick call just to check
  • I am seriously not happy about the CWP. I am on IS and get Carers for a very disabled 29 year old son, yet I do not qualify for the Cold Weather Payment. I need he heating on 24 hours a day as my son also has Chronic Arthritis which as everyone knows gets really bad if you are cold. I am having sleepless nights, literally, worrying myself sick about my heating bills.
My ex husband, who scarpered the Country 3 years ago after clearing out our bank account, came back this year and is living at our local YMCA. He pays no rent, no utilities and is given 20 pounds per week on top of his JSA and DLA to buy food. He has also received 4 lots of CWP even though he doesn't have any gas/electric/water bills to pay.
    What a pigging joke.

    Finally! Finally!

4 cold weather payments due and 4 cold weather payments into my account today as 4 seperate payments.

Seems that the slightly incorrect date of birth for youngest (a 3 instead of a 5), really did make that horrendous impact and explains why I never received the payments before.

It's a huge relief after the disappointment last year when none were paid out and I was palmed off every time I rang....thankyou to the advisor who actually checked all the details and found the problem.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.
  • i had my 5th Trigger on the 22nd Dec and have been getting them on a Wed but none gone in today so must be taken longer due to the Holidays.

Same here, well except it was my fourth trigger, positively tropical here that 1 week, it must've broken the 0 mark. :rotfl:

I had no problems last year; as in I didn't have to chase any payments up, unlike Sue above us, so I'm guessing it's just down to the holiday timing.

I'm just surprised we still get them. :o
