And for an interesting business venture I was most taken with this:

The whole road's been cheap forever: http://www.houseprices.co.uk/e.php?q=Cadogan+Street%2C+North+Ormesby%2C+Middlesbrough+TS3&n=10
Look at Google streetview - if you read the house details there's no parking, no rear entrance, no garage.... yet nobody has a car. Going round the back I can see there is a rear entrance way, gated off - but not room for a car in the back yard.
Small supermarket supermarket nearby, larger one only about a mile away, local shops and takeaways (and a bingo hall & pub lol) good transport links, town centre within walking distance (about 25 mins on foot) and most people park on the street

Still on propertybee it is now showing as a 900% increase so no doubt Hamish will be quoting it as an example for one of his 'theories'!PasturesNew wrote: »Yes, it's £275,000 now

They must have spotted all the interest we had in it - and put the price up

Following on from that one, I ended up in the auction files... and there was one house up for auction at £50k that was tenanted at £624.45/month!!! An unbelievably high rent for a 2-up-2-down terrace.
Auction: http://www.edwardmellor.co.uk/pdf/em_auction_catalog_oct10.pdf
Lot number: 23
Address: 46 Ventnor Street, Harpurhey, Manchester, M9 5UN
Land Registry: Bought for £29,500 in 2004 http://www.houseprices.co.uk/e.php?q=46+Ventnor+Street%2C+M9+5UN&n=100 -

But it IS in Corby...they are an odd lot around there.
Actually Hamish would be at home there, is it not in the main populated by ex-pat Jocks ?'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -

I thought I'd found the winner at £30k. Ready to move into, great garden shed/summerhouse, two(?) garages
http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-28192498.html?premiumA=true
Then I spotted it's 25% ownership - how on earth does that work on a house that old then? I thought SO's were new builds from the past 20 years or so.
All I can see wrong with it is a damp problem, not such a good SO deal as the cost of fixing that's disproportionate to the amount you're buying.0
