Hurray!
I know what you mean about the kindle, by the way - I've downloaded a few free books, and I certainly want to get shot of a few more of mine, but thats all - I've got no intention of losing them all. Plus quite a few of the books I own are a minority interest, lets say - weird little gardening books, therapy books that have sold about ten copies in this country, New Age type books that I've bought from ama**.com rather than .co.uk - all sorts of things.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
AFAIK, Kindles are lit differently to a computer screen and have different colours or something. I believe when you use an IPad you change the screen or something to make it different for reading than for computer stuff?? Makes it easier / better on your eyes.
For me, I don't see it as an either / or situation. In an ideal world, I'd have both a kindle and buy books as well. For me a Kindle would be fab for travelling, both on a day to day type journey and on holidays, weekends away, that kind of thing. However I can always think of other things I'd rather spend £100 on before a Kindle comes up!
Good call on the rent, I think it makes it easier in a way as well, because your rent is charged weekly it is neater than paying monthly as the rent is alright over a whole year but on a month by month basis sometimes looks off. And I know you like neat figures!!!I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills :eek:

Hello,
long time no post
I've been concentrating on food, exercise, work & trying to get to bed on time all week.
The eating regime is going well - I've lost 6lbs since I started a week ago & an inch off my waist :j ( amazing considering the cream filled chocolate eclair incident in the kitchen at work yesterday - it attacked me :whistle:)
I had my first taste of veg on wednesday which was interesting. I'd made a slow cooked chicken casserole but it really wasnt that great as I usually use gravy granules to thicken it up a bit, but couldnt so it was a bit 'thin'. DD declared she was a bit fed up with slow cooked meals so I'm going to just use the cooker for making soups for me & let her have other stuff for a while.
I swear I've eaten more fish in the last week than I've had in my entire life. Today was a tin of tuna with salad for lunch & smoked mackerel with salad for tea. I wasnt hungry at all while on the protein-only days which is the first time ever while trying to shed lbs. I did really enjoy having some juicy, crisp, crunchy salad today - made sure there was lots of pepper & celery in it.
I've decide I can cope with coffee without sugar & only skimmed milk, but tea without sugar is foul so bought some raspberry tea to alternate with the peppermint, but am mainly drinking water.
This method of eating is certainly not cheap & it does take a bit of thinking about to make things tasty but today I made some oatbran mini muffins & by adding some mixed spice they are yum - not as delicious as hobnobs, but not as deadly either.
I did ok with home-job earnings this week & actually have £15 pocket money to myself, so I've stashed that away for now.
All cash funds have been topped up this week & so have the bank funds which are looking healthy for now :
Car Tax = £90
Insurance = £ 120
Spares/Repairs = £ £140
Gas = £ 125
Electricity = £ 243 ( already earmarked for the final CC payment)
The Fun fund is now down to just £10 as today I bought tickets to take DD to see her fave Band/ Tv show : Big Time Rush. It's a secret that her best friends Mum & I are going to have to keep for the next 6 weeks :eek: as the gig's not until April - thankfully during hols the week I'm off work. Quite excited about it too - they're hot :rotfl:
Trip to Tatco today made me £75 worse off - £ 47.44 on Groceries. Had to fuel up as well so that was another £45.44, followed by 20p for my tyres which havent actually been done this year.
Next stop was the pet shop to buy more food, a new collar & a fab leopard print sleeping bag thing - total cost £ 16.78.
My fridge is absolutely crammed with fresh food; chicken, salmon, mackerel, veg, salad & fat free yoghurt & the cupboards are well stocked too - as I cant eat anything from them :rotfl:.
No cravings at all really, but I am looking forward to having a baguette with butter ... in about 8 weeks _pale_
Got to take DD out but will be back in a bit to catch up on all diaries
