Oh darn I thought you were going to tell me they were all concentrated in one ridiculously good-looking hospital and all I needed to do was relocate :rotfl:
To be fair there are a few cute ones but haven't noticed more than any other line of work (and unfortunately the really droolsome emergency medic at college last year had far too many fans to see me beyond the crowd!)

if they were all herded together in local hospital ... i would have had a career change by now
had a bath and now ready for any trips to be 'examined' if necessary.
it's not my day today, have just been mauled by the cat. i was tidying his cupboard and spilt the bag of catnip all over my pyjamas, he went bonkers & launched himself at my legs, my other hand got in the way & he dug his claws into my finger. dd was there in seconds with germolene and i now have a very fetching monkey plaster on my finger :rotfl:. do tetanus shots still get injected into the bum
I was about to make a small herb bag for the catnip with some fabric scraps but dd has now banned me from using anything sharp & pointy until further notice.
I'm sipping peppermint tea & not even contemplating doing any gardening tomorrow - too many opportunities for further mutilation.0 -
Oh dear...poor Lula...both hands out of action...DD seems to be looking after you very well.Hope your hands are feeling a bit better today.0
-
Lula! Thank heavens for DD, what a sensible little thing. Lol at the cat tho - my cats never responded to catmint very much, but went crazy when I planted a parsley plant in the garden - they used to roll in it and all sorts, it was very odd.
Just post a wee update when you can, I'm a bit concerned about infection for you ....2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi Lula
Just popping in. Are you sure it wouldn't be worth getting your hand checked over? I know you said the cut wasn't very wide, but is quite deep. I'm not a doctor, but there are a lot of muscles and tendons in your hand, it's a very intricate structure. Plus hands are very useful. Are you sure it wouldn't be worth getting it looked over? It should be quieter down at A&E today or do you have any walk-in clinics nearby? They could probably look at it.
As I said I'm not a doctor, just being cautious. Wouldn't want to see you end up with problems in the future.
GwenxThough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending0 -
Hi love, don't know anything about your various ailments but I too am on for a meet this year. Think it would be fab fun!'The road to a friends house is never long'0
-
Hello lovelies,
Gwen - fab to see you hon :j it's been ages since I saw any posts from you - hope things are ok for you, as I know last year was really tough :A
KC & Taxi - thanks for concern & yes DD is a little treasure.
As you can see I've sussed out how to do capitals now ( the caps lock button'll sort that one ) but it's taking a while to type ... so long in fact, that I actually started this post yesterday & wont finish until tomorrow.
I'm determined ( at the moment) that the hand will heal without any interference. I did get up & dressed so as to go to walk in centre / a&e but having cleaned the wound again with boiled water, slapped some more germolene on it & covered it with a fresh plaster I'm self treating at the moment. Walk in centres are 2 miles further away than hospital & it would still involve having to drive there.
I can move all my fingers fine & it doesnt hurt at all other than if I press directly on the cut. It's very slightly warm & swollen in the immediate area but that would be typical of any injury I think. It was a clean knife wound rather than rusty old tin or broken glass - I would have gone straight to a&e for a shot if it had been.
I will get some more Germolene & plasters tomorrow as I realised that the tube we have is slightly vintage ( circa July 2010) but other than that I'm in good health, so not too worried.
I am monitoring it carefully - scarring not a concern but infection definitely is, so I wont hesitate to act if necessary.
All the ironing has been done by my left hand & clothes put away by DD
but other chores can wait as not urgent.
Having failed to lose a single pound I'm almost despairing of ever having the willpower to shed the full 20lbs I need to, to be a happy & healthy size. Having cleared out my makeup bag yesterday, today I decided to clear out the wardrobe again, putting everything that doesnt fit, into a drawer. I've tried this before, but clearly it wasnt the magic wand I wanted it to be.
I'm so proud of ShoeGal who has lost a whole 7lbs :T:j:A
I'm thinking there must be some psychological/emotional reason why I cant seem to stay focused long enough and there lies the key to the whole matter. Once I've sussed that one out, I think I'LL be able to move forward ... or maybe that's the whole issue right there . There are a lot of age related thoughts floating around my head at the moment; lost youth, lack of achievement, fear of drifting towards & arriving at death with nothing other than mediocre existing to show for my time on earth, blah blah blah *yawns into navel*
I havent even been drinking either :rotfl:
I have managed to win a rather nice belt on ebay today, for the jaw dropping price of a mere 99pand I have bids on 2 others as well.
tIme to head over to my flock on the clothes challenge and confess my own spends.
BYe for now

Good to hear from you! It sounds like you'll be fine.
I'm not concentrating at the moment, otherwise I'd be responding soulfully, but I *have* to get a bath before finally heading off out for the one piece of social life I refuse to give up, so response will have to come at another time. Love the image of you confessing to your flock tho2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Lula - it may be catching, I have managed to entangle my finger with a breadknife this evening! (Very shallow cut though and plastered after rinse with water and calendula.)
Good to hear from you Gwen :j
I have also just made my clothes challenge confessions - and had a minor rant about jeans!
