Great idea about a London meet up during the olympics :j One of our contractors at work has done some stuff there & showed us sneaky pics of the site - looks amazing.

KC - I know what you mean about the cat ... but lots of peeps have offered to feed him if we're away & downstairs neighbours have just got one themselves so we could always swap care. Yesterday they asked if he'd visited us, apparently the other day they caught him with his head stuck through our cat flap :rotfl: I'm hoping the foxes dont feel equally brave.

What fun with the neighbour's cat :) I was always finding strange cats in the house - mine weren't very aggressive - they'd just *look* at incomers :)

In relation to going away tho - cats themselves are fine, absolutely - its me, I'm a bit crazy around cats, if I was a normal-ish person :D it would be fine.

i've just stabbed myself in the hand :(.

was preparing my dinner; smoked mackerel and avocado mmmmm.

usually do a karate chop with a knife on the stone and it pops out . this time it wouldnt budge, so for some insane reason i grabbed a sharp serrated knife in my left hand and held the avocado in my right and started stabbing at the stone ...

you can guess what happened next, knife missed stone and went straight through the avocado into my hand. had to pull it out and ran the cold tap over my hand, swearing as it hurt. dd comes running in and goes pale, but remembers her first aid and makes me sit on floor while keeping pressure on the wound.

stayed like that for 10 mins - then smothered on germolene mdke a pad out of kitchen roll and wrapped a bandage round my hand. it's stopped bleeding but is now throbbing and seems swollen. sorry, no capitals as too scared to use it and open it up again. it's not a long cut - about half an inch but quite deep and just above the heart line between first and second finger on my right hand - my ebay hand  but thankfully i'm left handed :) i can move all my figers fine but jeeeeez is it throbbing :( and worst of all there's blood all over my avodado and it's the last one :(

dd wants me to go to hosp but no way am i going to a and e on a saturday night, especially not smelling of mackerel while wearing my scruffs :rotfl:

I insist you have new shoes - they should be available on the NHS :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

  • I'm with DD - if it's deep it may need a stitch and you don't want unnecessary scarring to restrict your ebaying movements do you?

A&E probably better earlier in the evening and you can always swop your scruffs and cover yourself in perfume!

    thanks girls :A

thing is rosa, hospitals are full of dishy medical men so i'll need to have a bath, defuzz, wash, dry and straighten my hair, apply makeup, choose outfit, get dressed and then somehow drive there which will be a bit tricky.

I also dont have any change for the ravenous parking meter without breaking into my sealed pot.

I think i'll see how it is in the morning ... and take doctor shoe gals advice for now ;)
  • Pray tell where these dishy medical men are to be found? (am clearly missing out as most of the ones I meet in work and college don't really match that description... I had discounted the 'dishy doctor' as a mythical beast!)

OK hope it all calms down overnight and turns out to be not as serious as first thought. Do get it checked if looks deep though.

hmmmmm, maybe i'm confusing the nhs with er and the gorgeous croatian doc :rotfl:

i've been looking at shoes on ebay and amazingly the throbbing has subsided - yay for the restorative and soothing powers of gorgeous footwear :D

dd has just inspected it, added more germolene and i now have a large crocodile plaster over the cut. i'm far more concerned about infection and going to hospital with open wound, and leaving with mrsa

i promise to get it seen if it doesnt seem to be healing :)

going to have a bath now, thank goodness for home hair colouring and endless supplies of plastic gloves ;)

    back later ...
