Work has it's benefits but I'm a weird one in that I do like to have a few hours to myself with a chance to catch up on the chores.
A clean home makes me happy & relaxed & it does mean that I can truly enjoy the weekend - lounging in bed reading magazines, doing my nails, watching tv & eating etc etc
Took DD to club & came straight home to do the workoutthen had a soak in the bath & am about to go collect her (pj's under my trackie pants :shhh:)
Desperately hoping that router thing arrives tomorrow so I have time to fiddle about with it ...
bye for now

Hi museumworker ( dammit - you found me
, will have to be good with the spends now :rotfl:) Just kidding sweetie :A, I'm always a-lurking over at yours, but dont post much
.
I just spent £400 on a blinking radiator, don't think I'm in much of a position to talk :rotfl: - but if it'lll help you on the path to debt free enlightenment I can of course play big bad spending meanie.
I don't post as much as I read, but always appreciate it when people post on mine.. I am such a hypocrite.
Tried some nuclear parenting myself last weekend - DD refused to tidy room, so utilised handy skip outside our house and put all her stuff from floor in bag in there (didn't really, but if OH hadn't taken it from me and hid it from me in front garden, I would have!). After some tears, room has been tidy since. Can only press nuclear button once though... before it becomes an all out war :rotfl:.

Hello all,
museumworker - as to nuclear parenting, I did the black bag trick weeks ago. It lasted about 10 days & now we're back at DefCon Orange . We're currently on a tv & pc ban but after that all I have left in my arsenal is a pocket money ban ... or I give in & do it myself _pale_.
The little cherub is curently bathing in preparation for the party tonight. I'm in charge of hair & nails & quite excited about it too, living vicariously again.
My plan for a fab lie in was thwarted. I got up & put the washing machine on about 8, made myself a coffee & some toast then snuck back to bed, had just got my magazines spread out & turned the tv on & then my Dad rang !
Got the washing out on the line, bacon sarnies for brunch & then we whizzed up to M&S to find DD an outfit as she'd previously seen one there she liked. I loved the black & red striped sequinned number, but the length didnt look right & she tried on another couple of sparkly tops but eventually decide on a grey mini dress with a ruched bodice & layered net skirt which she's wearing over black leggings as she refuse to wear tight & with matching grey pumps. It was the dress she first liked, so in my role as style advisor I confirmed that she should go with her first instinct.
There were lots of ladies trying on fab dresses & parading around in front of the large mirror, I had to bite my tongue a couple of times over bad choices but couldnt help but chip in & agree with the sales assistant when a large lady wasnt sure about a gorgeous wrap dress. It looked wonderful on her curves & I felt I had to tell her how great she looked. She didnt seem to mind & she bought the dress.
I would so love to be a personal shopper/stylist & I'd start with the Goblin who insists on wearing outfits consisting of all the same colour. It's either all brown or all coral or all lilac or all black & all exactly the same tone too. I'm itching to get her to just try to mix her colours up a bit ... but she's not very nice to me so I shall let her wallow in her own drudgery ... miaoooow
Back to business - DDs dress was a very sparkly £27 leaving just £13 in the clothes allowance. She also insisted that I owed her a bag of Percy Pig tails too as I'd eaten all the last lot I bought for her, It is a shameful truth& I then spotted boxes of luxury Belgian biscuits at half price so grabbed 2 - Grandmothers birthday next week (& yes, we did eat the freebie ones from waitrose that were meant to be for her
:o) & a spare one for unexpected guests over christmas. That was another £5.48 which I paid on the debit card but should really have come out of the presents budget.
No plans to spend tomorrow although I am hankering after some bulbs to plant in the 'lawn'. We may walk to nearby independent garden centre if the weather is fine & I'll use my pocket money to buy some if the price is right.
Right, it's time to wield hairdryers & nail polish, I think 11 is too young for proper makeup but will allow a coating of lipgloss.
bye for now

Sounds a great day, Lula, really enjoyable. Particularly the clothes stylist bit - my image of you since we met is terrifically stylish.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hope she enjoys her party Lula. XXX'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Thank you ladies - I have my inspired days & that was one of them
& then there's the pj's under the trackie pants accessorised by wellies day s :rotfl:
However, I think that Karmas fab floaty mystic trousers stole the show
I was slightly ashamed when I bought those wellies as they were £25, but I have to say they are soooo comfortable & I wear them whenever I run down to the garden & at every opportunity really - much to DDs disgust.
I straightened her hair & painted her nails silver. There was an almost catastrophe when she produced an electric blue mascara  & promptly splodged it on her dress ... fortunately it came off with a rub of a parazone wipe. I confiscated the mascara & wondered where it had come from, then remembered that they had a'blind makeover' at guides last night & apparently she had swopped it for a lipstick that I'd given her
Must go & collect the little minx now & no doubt she'll be high as a kite on coke ... that's the trouble with these non MSE parents - they just dont appreciate watered down squash
bye for now

I'd forgotten about my mystic trousers!
Mascara, hey? Oh dear ... are you going to have a tussle on your hands there? :rotfl: I *love* the idea of silver nail varnish :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
