Hi Lula! You are fabulous, and so is your dad - and its very wise to carry on as usual and ignore that money - thats your cushion, the start of all your futureplanning ..... hope you have a great day (and that the washing gets dried !

Hello rainbow 81 & thanks for popping in
- we live in the same area
Hi eco - thanks for the good wishes & nice to see you here too :A I havent been on the SAID thread for ages as I thought it had sort of faded away ... sorry to hear of all the rubbish stuff you've been going through :grouphug: it must be tough losing another family member, stirs up all sorts of memories as well.
On a lighter note -I do like the sound of your new admirer - just enjoy yourself - you certainly deserve it :A. I have a feeling that you may well be afloat before meI think I will either need to wait til DD is all grown up (& can carry on living here paying half the rent & bills so I have somewhere to come home to when I need a break from emptying chemical loos :undecided) or I find a lovely man who has one & we can then share both places & the costs
.
Welcome & thanks to Shoe Gal too - was wondering when you were going to appear in all your fabulous glamourousness (sp/real word ?)
Karmacat - wise words as always & thank you. I have about another 20-25 years of employment ahead of me ( unless I win a fortune or marry 'well'- both unlikely) & no property so I'm more than happy leave it well alone for now & just forget about it.
It's been a remarkably bright & sunny day here although quite chilly. I didnt wake up until& have felt rather stiff all day so not done a workout but will have a yoga session later to try & stretch a bit.
I got 2 loads of laundry done & out on the line but I've noticed that the stuff on the rotary line never dries as quickly as on the straight tree-to-tree line so it had to go on radiators to finish off before being despatched to the magic airing cupboard.
NSD number 5 :j but I still managed to get some new stuff. The ipsos £10 e-voucher finally appeared today so off I went to amazon & promptly 'bought' myself 2 books.
We wandered down to the library & while DD chose some new books I sat down & read the paper for half an hour, for free. I also thought of Karmacat in there, as I noticed a poster for a local -ish astronomy group. I'm quite tempted to go along next saturday as the topic is The Moon but not sure if the timings will fit in with the party DD is going to. She's already seen a lovely outfit she'd like & as I think it will also be appropriate for wearing over the christmas season I'm happy to get it for her out of the new clothes budget.
I've also cleared out the airing cupboard today & got rid of more old tablecloths & sheets - DD has to make a tee pee for her homework this weekend so they will come in very handy. I still have a corner of stuff in the living room that needs to be delcuttered & it includes the sewing machine my grandmother gave me, the dreaded photo albums, the bookshelf & a stack of pictures. Needs to be done asap. might try amazon for the books as I dont need to photograph them & do clever uploady things.
Time to make dinner now

Yummmmm had a delicious dinner, then a long soak in the bath with a book followed by some heavy duty yoga.
I weighed myself this morning & in spite of 3 very rigorous workouts this week I've not lost a single pound . I've been very good with food too although I am now wondering just how damaging a Gordon & pack of crisps is ?
I have a nasty feeling that I will need to be teetotal in order to succeed with my svelteyness. This is turning out to be no fun at all. I'll finish the bottle of tonic I opened & then just not drink for a while to see if it makes any difference at all.
I'm keen to get rid of all my old credit card statements & paperwork as part of the decluttering & simplifying of my life. I'm just a bit unsure as to whether there is any reason why I should keep this stuff ?
I'll either take it all in to work & shred it or burn it, but want to be sure before I do so :undecided.0 -
Lula if it's all transferred over then get rid of it! And onto the new chapter we go!'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Thanks hon,
was just wondering if I should keep it case of any disputes or receipts for stuff I've bought using the CC ( eg the new teeth :rotfl:).
I will probably wait until I receive a letter confirming the account is closed although when I logged in to the Barclaycard account earlier, there was no info at all ie no card limit etc so assume it's all happened. I just like closure so there's no comeback.
My current account is all in order at the moment, all cheques gone through & no debits due this week so I should be able to make a decent payment to the CC this week & get on with shifting the last of the debt.
So bored with all this debt business now.

I keep the final statement of every closed card and account. The one thats says final balance 0.00. That way should the barstewards ever contact me saying actually you owe us...... I can prove that I most definately do not.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

I agree with moo2moo .... keep the proof you don't owe them anything! Its one piece of paper, but its huge peace of mind.
And sorry Lula, but I agree with you about the teetotalnessI think there's a lot of calories or whatever in the little treat you described....
I'm going crazy on researching food to help with arthritis - a new one I came up with on Friday is walnuts, so I bought two packs on offer at Holland and Barrett - I don't *particularly* like them, but I'll mix them up with dried fruit and eat them as a snack, I guess - at least it gets it over with  which isn't really the attitude to have about one's food, but I'm seeing it as medicine rather than something yummy :cool:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Okay maybe keep one piece of paper...but no more X'The road to a friends house is never long'0

Now I saw this quote in a book last night and thought of you and Shoesy. 'A girl should be two things, classy and fabulous'. It's from Chanel, and I think she might be right!!!!'The road to a friends house is never long'0
