Hi Angel - thanks for your kind words & lovely to see you, hope life is treating you well ?

As to Kirstie vs Nigella or KC vs Souk ... Now now girls - play nice ;)

I like both of them but not anywhere near as much as I love Souks " ... rips my knitting ... " phrase :rotfl:

I think they're both fab in their fields of expertise & I also love alys fowler s work - although I couldnt bear to have those gardening hands :o.

What I love is that these 3 women are all very different & yet are great feminine role models with their own very distinctive styles, operating succesfully in traditionally male-dominated areas .

Now let's talk about ME :p

I was just about to finish home-job work when I came over all keen to do another workout . Traditionally Wednesday is the night I lounge around with wine after completing all home-job work but tonight was different.

I knew I had no wine & as I havent done so much home-job work this week, I've not felt so tired. I'm determined to get back into my lovely clothes & have finally accepted that if I dont wish to starve myself thin, then I need to exercise - daily . It also makes me feel good :).

I did the superfit workout again (not yet ready for supersculpt _pale_ ) & although I still have to take the easier option on some of the moves I got through it. Still very glowy :o afterwards but did the cooling down stretches & then relaxed in the bath with a book :).

It's been quite a shock to realise just how unfit I've become & that has encouraged me to keep going as much as the thought of losing the lard.

On the finance front, I've been paid the huge sum of £1.60 from quidco :undecided but snigger ye not, as I've also had tracking confirmation from the laptop purchase - £ 22.53. I'm not sure why they only tracked the amount pre VAT but it's cashback & not to be sniffed at.

I received the Just Dance 2 game today so have stashed that away for DD for christmas. I need to get started on christmas shopping as the weeks are whizzing by now & I loathe the last minute thing.

It's been NSD 3 today, but tomorrow I need to pay another 'voluntary' contribution to the school for something or other & also need to buy stuff for DD to take along to the party on friday. Would love to hang all this out until friday but we have one crust & 2 slices of bread left. That will not do for 4 breakfasts & one packed lunch .

Oooh it's late, I need to go to bed & hope I dont ache too much tomorrow

    night night
    xx
  • Oh eck the 'C' word- i hate the thought of it myself..i have a few things, but like everyone else i am amazed how quickly it sneaks up on us..:(
Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

I know & I wont get away too lightly this year as we have distant relatives joining us so will have to spend more on pressies ... :undecided

    * wonders if raiding the work stationery / first aid cupboard could reveal some suitable gifts  - cheap brand post-its, wipeboard markers or sterile wipes anyone ? *

Off to buy bread & [STRIKE]wine[/STRIKE] fish/es (?) in a bit - will report spends later.

    It's been a spendy day today :

£3 for School Artsweek - although if I had another child at the school as well as DD, I would only have to pay £5 for both  It's irksome & I think unfair but a small amount so I'll suck it up & move on.

We did the Waitrose trip & spent an exact £40 & now have £82.08p left in my Household Account & 3 weeks left. Oh dear :(. I am using the debit card to pay for all groceries as it is easier to keep track of than cash. It also means the only cash I have on me is my pocket money & I'm not about to start flashing that about unnecessarily :p.

I did end up with £10 pocket money this week :jbut have no plans on spending it any time soon. After last weekends very expensive frittering I aim to spend nothing at all this one. We will make cakes & DD alos found hallowwen style apple decorating kit in the reduced basket for just 29p so that will keep her amused for while :D.

I've topped up all the cash funds as follows :

    PGL trip now = £40
    Presents = £80
    DDs clubs = £35
    Trips/Treats = £10
    Clothes  = £30

    - I really find it easier to save some cash for clothes each week & although £500 may seem a lot for a year, that's for everything for both DD & myself - her shoes come in at about £36 a go & she'll be needing a whole new school uniform in July so I know I need to be careful & I wont need much at all as I'll be wearing the stuff I'm shrinking back into :D.

As soon as DD went off to bed I was doing that superfit workout again  That's 3 days in a row & already I have more energy & less desire to eat junk. My aim is to do the superfit every other day & the super sculpt ( involving weights I think _pale_)on the alternate days. I'll get one day off a week & eat a huge full english breakfast to reward myself :rotfl:.

Off to check out the price of weights now ...

    night night

Well done superfit you! Thats brilliant. I really can't exercise yet, but I was rummaging around healthy eating, and it mentioned eating 20 foods a day - which I thought was impossible, but without trying too hard, I'm up at 17 or so (I sprinkle 3 different kinds of seeds on my porridge, which helps!).

    Holo amigos

It's been an unusual day here. It started off fairly normally with me taking DD to school & then coming home to attempt laundry.

I'd just hung 2 loads on the line when it started to rain so I had to bring it all in again & distribute it about the place.

Then my father rang to say he was coming over to sort out finances with me . Turns out to be even weirder than I originally thought ( that he'd sussed my online persona ). He's been trying to get me to sort out a pension/savings for a while now & finally got fed up with my evasiveness & organised it himself on my behalf .

Obviously, this is lovely of him & I'm very, very grateful & appreciative but it was also very surreal. He'd transferred money to my current account, so there I was buying a S&S Isa over the phone with my debit card for a sum that exceeds my total debt & feeling like a complete fraud.

It was truly bizarre. At one point the guy on the phone said that the transaction wasnt accepted & while my father was looking astonished & worried, I wasnt at all surprised :rotfl:. Turns out he'd entered the wrong number so then it went through & I just felt completely detached from the whole event.

I dont feel any better off as it's long term savings & I cant use it so I'm just going to carry on as normal & pretend it never happened until debt free & then I suppose I'll need to start adding to it.

Other than that little blip - which wasnt really my money so doesnt count :p - it's been a NSD :D. Dear Father then took me to the pub for lunch so I pigged out & as I've not done any exercise today I've probably undone all the superfit work :(.

The fab red patent shoes arrive today & are an ideal fit & in perfect unworn condition so that was great.

I've paid the electricity bill which was £73 & discovered 2 bottles of tonic water in the cupboard so have had a very gorgeous Gordon & wont be buying any wine this week.

No news from work that my shiny new lappie has arrived so either Grumpy has let the dog eat it  or it'll arrive on monday. I still need to get myself a wireless router & just havent got my act together to do that. I also need to clear out all my old CC paperwork & check whether Barclaycard account has been closed yet. they sent me a customer panel survey to day & I opted to delete it immediately :p.

There are some lovely fireworks whizzing about but I need to go & collect DD from her party now so will return another time.

    Bye for now
    xx
