Hello you classy & fabulous lot
thanks for that Souk - although in my current attire I could be described as exactly neither. I'm rocking the no make up, natural hair & combats with cardi lookbut let's keep that between us :shhh:.
I hear you on just the one bit of paper - but being as cynical & untrusting as dear Moo is, I'll definitely be wanting something in writing to prove my innocence.
I've stayed within the grounds today - only went outside to hang laundry out & empty the kitchen compost pot after I filled it with the debris from leek & potato soup. I made so much that I'm freezing 2 potions as well as putting another 2 in the fridge for later on in the week.
I've been very homely all day. Made some rock cakes this morning as I promised Grumpy I'd take some in for him & he did slip me 2 mini flakes when no one was looking. Hmmmmm that maybe another reason for lack of weight loss. I did the ironing as the magic airing cupboard needed some help & I also spent a couple of hours helping DD make her tipis ( < that's the correct spelling apparently) & then another half an hour yearning after a bell-tent & romantic weekends in lush forests with candlelit glow & mulled wine ... until DD reminded me that
1) I dont have £299 spare &
2) I have 2 perfectly good tents that havent seen the light of day for 2 years now, as
3) I dont like camping much. At all. She was kind enough not to point out reason
4)
- I'm single & although I do have a rather vivid imagination, even I would struggle at romance in a tent on my own in the middle of a forest. The words " ... Beware the moors..." spring to mind .
Moving on, I was hoping to whack £200 squids off the CC tomorrow, then remembered that I have a 5p off each litre voucher from Tatco that needs to be used by 10th November. Shamefully, I havent got the faintest clue how many litres my car will take. I couldnt even tell you in gallons, pints or wine glasses. All I know is it's about £50 to fill it up & I now have about half a tank .
Aahh hang on a mo ...
I just checked my last fuel receipt & I put in 33 litres at £1.17 per litre so at £1.12 per litre ( using voucher) I would save about errr £2. Is it really worth it ?
Of course it is, I'm a very very serious DFW now & every £2 counts.
Talking of which, I sent DD to the shop to buy some yummy bread ( more rediscovered calories ) & gave her my £10 pocket money with instructions that she could buy herself a packet of sweets as a reward for going. She was beaming when she returned; she'd got the bread for £1herself some sweets for 50p, a chocolate bar for me ( yes, I know, more calories
) & a £2 coin in the change.
I'm saving £2 coins again, so for the £1 cost of the bread I now have just £6 left of my pocket money. If I dont earn enough at home-job then it's going to be a tough couple of weeks _pale_.
I have enough tonic left for one last little Gordon & no snacky bits so as Karma recommends I'm going teetotal . Going to send DD off to bed in a bit & have another go at the superfit workout. I will not stop until I have destroyed those 20lbs & banished them forever .
I may have to bore the pants off you all by listing my eats as well as my spends everyday - sorry.
Bye for now

I'm glad somebody else does that sometimes! Especially someone as glam as you, Souk :j
Lula, good for you! For sticking within the unnecessary spends budget, for leek & potato soup, for compost! It all adds up, you know it :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hi guys,
just a quick update from me tonight;
My shiny new laptop arrived at work today :j I opened it up to admire it but havent yet switched it on as I will need to have the wireless router in place before I do, apparently. I've been on the phone to my current ISP & have arranged to upgrade but now have concerns that I wont be able to run the old desktop pc for DD with the new router . This could be a major problem as it will mean getting her a new laptop. I also had to upgrade my broadband width which will cost an extra £7 per month. I'm panicking a bit now & considering getting mobile broadband instead just for my laptop unilt I can get her a laptop.
I really really hate techie stuff like this, it bores & frustrates me . I would rather just pay someone else to sort it all out for me.
It's taken the shine off the whole getting a new laptop now.
Otherwise it's been a NSD all day & although I didnt do the superfit workout, I did an intensive yoga session to compensate.
I've also cleared out all the receipts & old credit card statements, had reminder to compelete the Barclaycard survey & lovely letter from them, informing me that I can transfer all my other balances to them :rotfl:.
Not going to happen.
Off to panic a bit more,
bye for now

There is no reason that your desktop PC shouldn't work with a wireless router as you can run a wire from the pc to the router just the same. Can't understand why your BB is dearer either.Do you not have a nice techie person at work that can help you?
We have a wireless router which I run my laptop off and even though DHS desktop has a wireless card in it he prefers to run it off the wire..hope that helps..0 -

Hi Lula, I can second taxi's comments.
I use my desktop pc and work laptop at the same time from the wireless router and plug in the laptop to the router (if I don't the connection keeps getting cut and I have to keep laboriously logging in).
As long as the router is situated close to the pc (due to cable lengths) you should have no problems and you can roam the house with your laptop!
Perhaps pop into a pc world type of place and have a chat with the salespeople there about what cable you need. It shouldn't be expensive but once you know you could even price check online!

Hello lovely,
let just get back to chatting about clothes, shoes & make up then eh :rotfl:.
Seriously though, thanks very much to Taxi & also Katyj10 ( hello ).
I worried myself all night over it as I had the sneaking suspicion that I'd been 'sold' a product I didnt really need, they'd offered a one off fee for the router or a freebie if I increased my broadband for a monthly increase which was 'highly recommened' as apparently going wireless slows thing down. ( No bad thing really when it comes to me & ebay).
I called the peeps first thing this morning & was 'reassured' that I'd made the right choice & also that I would be able to connect without my current old desktop needing an adapter as well as having the new lappie on wirelss & that it would all be easy.
Went in to work & relayed all this to Gropey Boss ( who is pretty techie & gave me loads of advice originally on what laptop to buy etc) who said it was completely unnecessary to upgrade my broadbrand & to ring them up & say I 'cant afford' the monthly upgrade which should send them running to cancel & then just pay the one off fee.
I'm fed up with it all, want to pout & stamp my foot until someone else sorts it out for meBUT I am a semi-grown up & am going to wait until the router arrives & attempt to set it up myself before having my next tantrum.
I really need to or this could turn out to be the most expensive unused CC purchase ever.
It's been an NSD again & I've tracked down where the extra money came from; it was the electricity debit card payment :doh:so I'm now running a bit short & have had to transfer child benefit money over from savings account to fuel up tomorrow morning & do some grocery shopping ( 3 slices of bread again). The fridge is almost empty so I have no idea what on earth I spent £40 on last thursday .
Home-job work is definitely slowing down but I am much happier with the time I've gained so will just have to remain frugal unilt further notice.
I'm getting fitter. It was running up the stairs at work a couple of weeks ago that made me realise how shockingly out of condition I was - & today I ran up with no gasping at the top :j.
No visible weight loss yet but I feel so much better & when I did the work out tonight, I'm sure there was less 'glowing'. I think my skin looks much 'fresher' too. All good so far then.
Off to bed now, will update again tomorrow
night night

glad you are no longer in a panic over the computer situation...it really will be quite easy and am sure the techie board or ZTD can talk you through it.0
