Today I have received paperwork from the administration company. It includes claim forms to be filled out by agent and all customers and signed by agent.

    Got mine this morning!

Also had to see manager of bank today (Lloyds TSB) and she went through my account, saw I had paid direct debit to Farepak, pulled up a staff notice about it and then apologised as they don't refund for direct debit so no chance for me to claim that back!!

Free Football tickets for Farepak people ( Derby/Plymouth Area)
I have just read in my loacal free paper that any people who saved with Farepak can claim free Football tickets to the game between Derby County and Plymouth. All they need to do is go to either Football clubs Ticket Office and show ther Farepak registration and a a form of Id ( passport or DL) and that person will get 4 tickets to the game on the 30th December.

A Treasury Select Committee have just issued this report about Farepak . It also raises the point about helping to educate people to get better savings deals:-

  • We the members of https://www.unfairpak.co.uk hereby call upon the people of the United Kingdom to look seriously at HBOS’s actions in respect of Farepak. We do not suggest for one minute that HBOS have acted illegally; however, we do question their morality in this fiasco. We firmly believe that HBOS should have called in their security when EHR announced in June that their funding had run out. This would have significantly lessened the monies lost by farepak’s customers.

Approximately 90% of Farepak customers were female with children and on a low income. As aforementioned, we are asking the people of the UK to ask themselves this question, “Did HBOS act immorally by holding out until 13 October to foreclose on EHR”? If you feel strongly that they did and you bank with HBOS we are asking you to support these women and their children by sending the strongest message possible to HBOS by closing your account now. We would also ask you to write to the Bank of England explaining your reasons for closing any accounts with HBOS.

The leader of the Commons, Jack Straw, himself stated “whatever legal obligations HBOS may have, they certainly have very strong moral obligations in this situation”. He went on to say “the more we find out about it the more, bluntly, it stinks”.

Accordingly, we are calling upon all MPs, MSPs, and AMs who bank with HBOS to join with us in this national boycott of HBOS.

please pass this on to others
