I for one have washed my hands with this voucher lark,i will be putting into post office next year.0

I feel sick to the stomach about this, I'm a customer and i will lose £230, but my sister is an agent and so far she's paid in £2300! She's now explaining to customers about losing their money. What makes it worse is that i had to tell her, I found out last night and had to be the one to ruin her evening!0

My wife is also an agent and all her orders are paid up in full, all £2500 worth. What I dont understand is all these payments are payments in advance and no vouchers or hampers are sent out until christmas, so what has the company done with the money?
As far as I can see its fraud full stop.0 -

It certainly seems a big coincidence that this has happened at a time when most people were looking to make their final payments. I smell a rat.0 -
I feel dreadful for everyone who lost out. I find saving a bit each time I go to Asda is the way for me to go. I take a Christmas gift card from the till, put on a few quid each time, then when redeemed they add a percentage on top if you use the Christmas one instead of the normal gift card. I can then buy the food and gifts I need in there.
i also find it cheaper to augment this by making a list of who is getting what...if it can be easily made by me, it is...things like bath smellies, candies, etc. if not, I keep aneye out in the sales all year long and snaffle things up and cross it off the list. I have a box in the loft I keep it all in so easy to find and out of sight.
I hope everyone gets Christmas sorted, it is so sad.budget meals can be good meals0 -
I hope that the directors are properly investigated and prosecuted if there is any evidence of wrong doing - though I'm not holding my breath as there are ridiculously few prosecutions when companies go bust.
Having checked Companies House website, there are a couple of interesting facts. http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/ec5884018c945d94758993f12bbd5327/compdetails
Firstly, the company Farepak Food and Gifts Limited was only set up in 2003 so if Farepak are long established and going for several years as suggested by others in this thread, it must have been sold or gone under previously.
Secondly, the actual company changed its name three times in 2003 - it's first change was to Kleeneze UK Limited, then became Kleeneze Investments Limited before it changed to Farepak Food and Gifts Limited so it seems as if the Kleeneze people are behind it. (Search other forums for people's often dim view of Kleeneze).
Obviously no solid evidence here, but there certainly looks to be something fishy about them.
Edit: Having checked some of the several Kleeneze companies on Companies House, they all seem to have the same registered office as Farepak Food and Gifts Limited, so it does look as if Farepack and Kleeneze are all part of the same extended group - I wonder how safe Kleeneze are and whether they are about to go the same way too!0 -
I have come across this from another board:
I regret to advise that Joint Administrators have been appointed over the assets and business of Farepak Food and Gifts Limited on 13 October 2006.
PLEASE NOTE THAT NO FURTHER MONEY SHOULD BE SENT TO THE COMPANY. ANY DOCUMENTATION SHOULD BE RETAINED AT THE PRESENT TIME AND NOT SENT TO THE COMPANY.
It is the intention of the Joint Administrators to use this website as a way of updating all customers and agents affected by the Administration. The website will next be updated on Friday 20 October 2006.
In the meantime please send notice of any claim you may have

At least there is an email to get in touch with someone, whether it will get us anywhere who knows.0 -

At least there is an email address for claims - even though it is more than likely a waste of time. What would you recommend writing in the email? What goes around comes around0
